This Map Shows Which States Care The Most About College Football

The fall means a lot of things to a lot of people, but one thing stands above all, depending on which part of the country you call home: football season. You probably all have an NFL team, but as we all know, the real rivalry is in college ball. As any football fanatic will tell you, his team is the BEST and his fan base is the BEST and no one cares about college football more than he does.

Thanks to this map from The New York Times, you can now actually prove that you do care the most about college football and your team really is the best–well, if you go to Alabama, that is.

Alabama tops the chart as the state that cares the most about college football, giving ‘Bama fans just one more thing to annoy the rest of the world about. Unsurprisingly, the SEC also tops the charts with the South absolutely dominating the college football fandom. Pockets of the Midwest, presumably where people have nothing else to do but stare at fields of corn, came in just behind the South, with states like Nebraska, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Arkansas rooting for college football teams on the weekends.
