I don’t want to sound like a ridiculous Mavs homer or anything, but I really think that the acquisitions they made in the last week have given them one of the better teams in franchise history. I would definitely say this team is better than the ’06 Finals team.
I’m a huge Mavs fan, but this team isn’t going to be able to compete with the Thunder or Spurs. The 76ers cut Brand, and the Grizzlies let Mayo walk for nothing. They are not to be confused with franchise changing players. Carlisle will make them decent though, still no better than a 5 seed.
I agree with you on competing with the Thunder and being a 5 seed but I think they can beat the Spurs though. I am more worried about the Lakers and potentially the Clippers.
