Throwback Thursday: The One Fingered Victory Salute
Without a doubt, George W. was one of the most memorable personalities that will ever occupy the White House. His southern swagger and disregard for grammatical perfection consistently made him an enjoyable speaker. He’s given us many entertaining moments throughout his career, including the famous “one fingered victory salute.”
While W always had the ability to make us laugh, it is very rare that a politician has the ability to laugh at himself. At the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, with the help of a doppelganger, #43 showed us he wasn’t against a little humor at his own expense.
Obviously an easy target for comedians, many have done impressions of W over the years. Will Ferrell’s is probably the most famous. After our current President’s announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed, Ferrell did another impression of W giving an important announcement of his own…from a Sizzler. Enjoy it.
