Top 10 Tailgating Destinations

10. Notre Dame

Yes, I know Notre Dame has been a shitty program for years, and South Bend is nothing to get excited about. Even the weather sucks. So, why would anyone want to tailgate for a shitty program in a shitty town, right? Wrong. The place is special. It’s just fucking special. Any college football enthusiast owes himself a man trip to Notre Dame on gameday. Keep in mind, however, this trip is much more about tradition and history than it is about good eating, good looking women, keg stands and drunken conversation. Get there early, walk the campus, visit Touchdown Jesus and talk to the thousands of die-hard loyal fans who show up every Saturday no matter how poorly the Fighting Irish are playing.

    1. Year Around Frat

The cool thing about being mormon is you can convert to it when you’re in hell. You won’t go to heaven or get your own planet but limbo probably is a mediocre place.

*not being mormon. And it’s not limbo but something like that. Minor paradise?

UCLA tailgates are a joke. I think he is referring to the Rose Bowl games, not the team that has 30,000 people show up to one of the largest stadiums in the country.. At least I hope.

Madison, Wisconsin is a horrible, God forsaken place. And the tailgating is fucking terrible.

I’m going to be nice and just assume you didn’t put SMU on the list because we call it Boulevarding.

    1. Good Old Boy

As a current SMU student who is from Louisiana, SMU Boulevarding is no where close to tailgating at Tiger Stadium. Every SEC school tailgates harder than SMU. Sure the Boulevard is beautiful but the cops are swarming and its impossible to drink if you don’t have a wristband. Plus, no one goes to the games.

^True but it’s definitely better than UCLA, Washington, and fucking Notre Dame.

I’ve been to the Grove twice (Arkansas-Ole Miss in 2009 and 2011) and was horribly disappointed both times. The atmosphere is very fratty, I’ll give them that, but it seemed overhyped to me. Maybe it’s because Ole Miss sucks this year that made it so bad.

Honestly, the golf course at Little Rock when Arkansas plays LSU (which only happens once every other year) tops the Grove every time, IMO, and I’ve been to Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas.

My sister went to Arkansas and has come to The Grove for both games. Those games were not nearly as packed as usual…. The Grove it a much different atmosphere when it’s a 1PM, 3PM or 6PM game. I believe both those games were morning.

The Grove has lacked a little bit this year, but we suck this year… Alabama was a crazy weekend though, great Groving

Agreed. 11 am games just don’t have enough grove time before the loss comes. But Bama weekend was AWESOME. Hotty Toddy!

I’ll take y’alls word for it. These 11 am SEC Network games kill the atmosphere; they should leave that crap to the Big Ten.

    4. SEC Frat

I’ve tailgated at every SEC venue except for Kentucky and Florida and to me nothing beats a Little Rock tailgate. I’m of course biased, but don’t judge it till you’ve done it from 6am til game time at War Memorial.

I’m sure it was just the early start, but it was a bit of a let down. Of course, so is fayetteville for those fucking early games. But the bars afterwards were cool, and, like I expected, the people seemed like good southern folk. But you gotta love those Little Rock tailgates, especially when we’re playing LSU. Last year was amazing, naturally I was highly intoxicated and charlie sheen high from winning the game, but it was an awesome atmosphere.

No thanks. If I wanted to see drunk redneck GDI’s, I’d move back to Alabama.

Some of the best times I’ve ever had have been getting hammered at the Rez. It’s a blast!

^ Nothing to complain with unlimited beer and scantily clothed women. I’ve spent many a day at the res.

^Glad you had a good time here, hopefully one of your brothers hooked you up with tickets to the game?

    2. Fratting hard

I was a huge Auburn fan last year, but really liked Alabama the year before that. This year I’m a big Alabama fan again, as well as LSU, but will probably drop 1 in a couple weeks. O and I like Florida in ’06 and ’08 but not in ’07

  5. USS Hazer

Really? I could’ve sworn this was a site for fraternities, and at least half of these places are as geed as it comes. Also, UT-K has the absolute worst tailgating in the SEC.

Come to Knoxville and say that to anyone’s face. I bet you go to Kentucky, does the number 27 mean anything to you?
