U.S. Senator Helps Fan With Keg Stand At LSU Tailgate

Politicians have to get out and interact with people in order to get their vote. It’s just part of the job. As we get closer and closer to the upcoming midterm elections, you’re obviously going to be more likely to see candidates for public office out and about. They’ll march in parades, give speeches at community meetings, and make appearances at public events. They’ll do whatever they have to do to reach out to their electorate and interact with them. However, some of these politicians may take a slightly less than conventional approach.

Senator Mary Landrieu, a U.S. senator who represents Louisiana, is up for reelection this year and it looks like it’ll be a tight race. She’s a Democrat seeking a fourth term, and her reelection is certainly far from assured. In order to get the word out about her campaign, she attended an LSU tailgate this weekend. That’s not a bad idea when you think about it. It’s a great way to reach out to voters, both young and old. While at the tailgate, Senator Landrieu got pretty heavily involved in the festivities for a politician.

Numerous bystanders snapped photos of Senator Landrieu helping an LSU student do a keg stand. She’s literally holding the guy’s mouth. When asked about the incident, Landrieu responded that the drinker’s “father was there, so I felt OK about it.”

People in the crowd even tried to get Landrieu to do a keg stand herself, but, as you probably expected, she declined. Naturally, she thought it might look bad for the press, but you never know. I don’t know the political dynamics of Louisiana well, but that might be exactly what the people are looking for in a leader.

Personally, I have no problem with the senator helping an LSU fan with a keg stand. She’s just doing her job as a politician: interacting with her constituents. Sure, it’s unconventional, but so what? Anyone who tries to give her shit for that is just looking for an excuse to smear her. Then again, that is pretty much the name of the game in politics.

Hell, she was just trying to get the people going. That used to be called leadership.

It’s pretty tight that you’re allowed to be ignorant in the state of Louisiana

Doesn’t matter who the hell she helped with a keg stand. This dumbass liberal voted for the shithole of a law Obamacare. I have no respect for her at all

If a Republican did this there’d be a media frenzy accusing him/her of condoning binge drinking and underage drinking.

After the keg stand, she told the student that he must give the rest of his beer to 47% of students who couldn’t or wouldn’t buy their own keg. Then she invited the illegal immigrants and the other school to drink for free as well. Then she said that if they didn’t vote for her, the original student who bought the keg wouldn’t share with them anymore. Next game day, the original student decides that it would be easier just to drink out of someone else’s keg. #Obamanomics

Be honest, you wouldn’t have clicked on this if you realized the senator was the female not doing the keg stand in the picture
