UCF Kappa Sigma Raised Over $85,000 For The Troops Partying Their Nads Off
I’m washed. I’ve come to grips with the sad realization and accepted that I’m entering the much less exciting “It’s getting late” at midnight stage in my own personal life. I turn 26 in May and it’ll be 4 long years since I graduated (still waiting on that degree in the mail, UCF) from my beloved alma mater in the city of big dreams and even bigger hearts, sunny Orlando, Florida.
With each passing day, I’m getting further and further removed from those late nights shutting down Dev’s (R.I.P.) or wrecking havoc on the way back to the big blue house on Mendel. Each party and game day becomes hazier by the second and I can barely picture the place where I spent a substantial period of my adult life growing into the “mature, sharp, flushed with cash” man that stands before you. But today, those memories came rushing back compliments to the brothers of Kappa Sigma and their annual Key West Fest philanthropy concert/party and I’m not sure it’s helping with the anxiety of being on the wrong side of 25 very, very soon.
No clue who Slander is, because, again, I’m an out of touch old man who still listens to classical music like Flux Pavilion and Bassnectar, but major props to you kids raising $85k for the troops. Seemed like a decent time, too.
Really appreciated the enthusiasm out of this chick.
And I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure this dude in the Yankees cap was around when I was a pledge. No judgement here.
Well done, guys..

9 years ago at 4:57 pmTo be willing and able to help the heroes who are willing to give everything to protect our freedoms makes you a patriot. To do it on the scale these boys did makes you a truly good American. Proud to know that my adoptive country still has people like this around to show the world that America will go the extra mile for its heroes. We’re gonna be alright with people like this around.
