UConn Campus Shaken After Hazed KKG Member Wakes Up In Hospital

The University of Connecticut placed the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on temporary suspension after an alleged hazing incident. The incident occurred at the off-campus SAE house, and it put sorority member Hillary Holt in the hospital. Holt, a sophomore, woke up in a hospital bed after she was forced to drink alcohol at the party, as well as participate in other physical hazing rituals. Upon arriving at the hospital, her blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit of .08.

UConn’s Office of Community Standards has barred both organizations from participating in school and Greek-related events while it investigates the allegations.

The method of hazing? Forced drinking and the go-to bacon fry.

From NBC Connecticut:

Holt accuses members of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sigma Alpha Epsilon of forcing her and other girls to drink.

“We had to lay on the floor and sizzle like bacon, hold our ankles, jump up and down,” said Holt. “If we did it right, we had to drink. If we did it wrong, we had to drink.”

Frying like bacon, made popular by “Dazed and Confused.”

Occurring in the wake of SAE’s monumental announcement to terminate its pledging process, which is, in effect, an effort to eliminate hazing, this is poor timing for the SAE chapter at UConn. Just three days before the new, pledge-free program was put into motion, perhaps this was part of a last-ditch effort to squeeze some hazing in before Nationals cracked down. Hazing a girl, though? Didn’t see that one coming.

Embarrassing for TFM how inaccurate this article is. Might want to go get the real story.

There may or may not be more to the story but TFM is a humor site, if you honestly expect them to report on every story better than an actual news agency you may have a learning disability.

This is what happens when Nationals take away our pledges. We just help out everyone else with theirs.
