UCSD SAE Answers Rush Boob Controversy By Raising Money For Breast Cancer Research Days Later

Friday, we reported that the University of California, San Diego’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter and rush boobs were starting to make regional news and even some national outlets after some homely girl with a buzz cut took one new member’s request for yabo shots public. She claimed that it was objectifying and degrading to women and got her fifteen minutes of local news fame. Nothing really came of it, rightfully so, because it was simply a request. But since she dragged the organization through the mud, SAE decided it was best to respond, and they did so in a fairly poetic manner.

We were so excited to be able to participate in this event and raise over $300 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!

Last minute philanthropy event to raise money for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer? Well played, SAE. Well played.

Also, I have no clue what Greek life is like at UCSD, but this chapter looks maybe twenty strong? If that’s the case, getting their name out, whether through rush boobs or another means, is vital.

300 dollars….don’t get me wrong, philanthropic work is always good, but for an entire chapter to raise $300 just seems kinda sad.

To be fair, it was probably a brother scrambling through the house asking for whatever they had on hand. Still more than anyone has ever successfully collected last minute for a social fee.

Between the chapter photo and the fact that they raised only $300, consider the wealthy white guy stereotype shattered.
