The campus at the University of Florida is buzzing today because a student is making it her mission to expose the corruption going on behind closed doors of the student government prior to elections on Tuesday and Wednesday.

#NotMySystem: The Truth About Student Government at UF

Student Government at the University of Florida is run behind closed doors and we want to open them. The System is real. Hear it from someone who was at the top of it. #NotMySystem

Woah, woah, woah. Greeks hook other Greeks up with positions in SGA??? That’s a shocker. That’s it. I’m convinced that Greek life is the Illuminati. We are the Machine, or the Bilderberg Group of college campuses, if you will.

Look, the reality of the situation is that being in student government is just a worthless addition to your résumé. No one cares that you were part of an entity that really has no power. SGA is no Senate or House of Representatives. It’s not even as relevant as your local zoning department. The decisions that go on in the student government don’t move the needle at all when it comes to campus politics. So chill out.

This guy, though.

If she thinks the SGA is corrupt, she should check out what’s going on in DC.

Anyone else feel like the end was a knockoff of the Bernie Sanders (who is terrible) commercial?

Turning against the people that gave you positions for four years end up with them telling you to fuck off. Who would have guessed?

So in other words, the corruption is totally fine. The only bad thing that happened here was someone spoke out against it.

I’m a UF student. This anti-Greek party started to slip into irrelevancy recently so they had to do something big. Not entirely sure that this is going to work but it’s just about the only thing that people are talking about on campus today. They’re really trying to push the words “oppression” and “marginalization” (whatever the fuck that means) on us right now in order to win. Super fun stuff.

UF student here too…this video is quite unnecessarily melodramatic and not really much of a revelation at all, but given that the anti-Greek party mostly swept elections last spring I wouldn’t say it has slipped into irrelevancy. If anything, the pointlessness of the video is only exacerbated by the fact that the anti-Greek party had it’s most success round of elections in years last spring.

UF alum here: seriously, just promise better Wi-Fi and actual entertainment for Gator Growl and you’re guaranteed the win. The fuck with campaigning.

I agreed with you, ole’ Boulevard, until your third paragraph — to which I then realized you were probably a little salty about never getting into campus politics either. Maybe you could go on a date with this girl and help “chill her out,” though.

Why would he be salty about not getting involved with campus politics?…if he wanted to hear constant drama and bitching then he’d get married.

Any real decisions are made by the board of trustees. Student government is just there to give pent up virgins something to release their stress with and bitch about “what theme we want for diversity week”.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.
BUT if this was true, your buddies wouldn’t go to the ends of the earth to win 100% of seats in every single election.

KA has nothing to do with this why, why is their house being used on the cover?

A non-greek student putting a friend of theirs into power, perfectly ok. A Greek putting another Greek into a position of power. Corruption! Unfair! Proof that Greeks are privileged! Proof their whole system needs to be brought down! They only do this so they can take advantage of innocent freshman girls!!!

Please link to any evidence–or any serious documented accusations–of the systematic discrimination against Greek students but GDIs in Student Government. I don’t think that exists, and I think you’re just making up something to help defend your position.

She can “speak her mind” all she wants but when someone comes back at her I bet she’ll be saying she needs a safe space cause they’re too mean.
