UK Phi Delt In Deep Shit

Another day, another fraternity gets the boot. When will you guys learn?

Just yesterday, the University of Connecticut announced it suspended, pending investigation, its Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter and its Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter. Today, it appears the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at the University of Kentucky may face the same fate, possibly worse.

The UK student newspaper, the Kentucky Kernel, reported the fraternity is currently sanctioned by the university, but it will have the right to appeal the ruling. Dean of Students Victor Hazard (hot damn, what a name) was quoted saying, “Sanctions have been offered based on the gravity of the incidents and prior case history.” Apparently, the Phi Delt brothers have a bit of a history with IFC, but honestly, who doesn’t?

I have heard several theories as to what the alleged incident was, and it’s not pretty.

Phi Delt’s President, Kyle Budde, responded quickly. He told the Kernel, “We are disappointed with the university’s ruling. The serious allegations against us remain untrue and are based on nothing but hearsay and gossip. We look forward to a continuing, fair appeals process.”

Obviously everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but according to numerous unconfirmed online reports and tweets, the Phi Delt brothers are in a little more of a predicament than they’re willing to admit. It appears as though their charter may get revoked, which would result in their dismissal from campus regardless of what the university decides.

Twitter, as usual, provided some evidence as to the fate of Phi Delt:

There doesn’t seem to be much hope lingering in the air for the men of Phi Delt–if Twitter is any indication, the dominos have already started falling. Best of luck to all the men of Phi Delt, and hopefully the truth comes out soon enough.

Along with allegations of drugging a girl and their past record they had to admit to having an unsanctioned, off-campus party with common source alcohol. That’s a big no-no at UK, obviously every fraternity does this and preys something like this doesn’t happen. On top of that they had minors at the party drinking the alcohol, so regardless of whether someone was drugged they are still in some shit for having the party with alcohol there. From what I’ve herd only one Phi Delt actually lives at the house the party was thrown at but people had the impression that it was a Phi Delt party whether that was due to them providing drivers or them providing the alcohol, this last sentence is just what I have herd through the grapevine, not sure if its true.

The same people who lecture the world to not assume black people are guilty are the ones who assume fraternities are always guilty.
