How do you know he did? 7 of the 9 witnesses have recanted their states after releasing statements of being forced into testifying against Davis, by the police officers. There is no murder weapon, evidence is absent to say that he did shoot him.
Weren’t there bullet casings that matched his gun? I don’t know if that is enough to justify the death penalty, but the man was found guilty by a jury of his peers. Whether or not he received a fair sentence–it’s too late, now.
Actually MrF, there were 34 witnesses in total and only 2 of them recanted substantively. Those 2 were friends of the now deceased criminal. Oh, by the way, there were 2 military eyewitnesses (not police) who have adamantly not recanted. True, there was circumstantial evidence, but if I fall asleep and there’s no snow on the ground and wake up to snow, that’s circumstantial evidence that it snowed. Worst case scenario, he was there after beating on the victim and watched his buddy kill the guy – felony murder rule, he’s in prison for the rest of his worthless life. Good riddance.
This guy tried every avenue of appeal and nothing worked, what makes you think that him trying everything again was going to bring about a different outcome?
Frattastical- do a little research instead of relying on the main stream media. First off, did you know there were 34 witnesses for the prosecution? WTF does the media keep saying 9? Second, 7 of the witnesses did not fully recant their statements. Five changed little details which still did not exonerate the murderer or made new outlandish claims. The only two that completely changed their story (friends of the murderer), were not called by the defense in post-trial evidentiary hearings as they knew the witnesses new stories would be shredded under cross-examination. Third, there were two years between when the witnesses gave their statements and when they had to testify. Why didn’t they tell anyone in those two years the story they gave was wrong and they were coerced? Finally, since when do cops force people to testify? The courts do that by this thing called a subpoena. If you receive a subpoena to testify, you have to appear and tell the truth unless you incriminate yourself or violate a legally recognized privilege (doctor-client). None of these applied. What evidence are you looking for? The murdered did not rape, rob, beat or touch the victim, so there would be no DNA evidence. If only there were multiple eye-witnesses. Oh yeah, there were. If only the bullets in the victim matched those that were in the body of another victim the murderer shot. Oh yeah, they did match.
He wasn’t pulled randomly off the street. Someone doesn’t become a suspect in a cops’ murder out of the blue. He did something to get himself thrown into that situation.
Thats exactly what I told someone on facebook. I said this isn’t Soviet Russia, shit like this just doesn’t happen to a rando on the street. Or skreet in this case…
When you say you didn’t carry the gun the night of the murder, all that says is that you simply did not carry the gun. That statement doesn’t imply that he was not involved in the murder. You would think his argument would sound a little more like “I was in no way involved in the murder of that cop.”
You’re clearly completely oblivious to how corrupt police in this country can be, there are documented cases of cops randomly choosing suspects if they’re minorities, watch “Murder on a Sunday Morning” or just stop being such an idiot.
If the piece of shit had a job and wasnt out on the streets trying to get a beer from some homeless guy, he wouldnt have been in that situation. Not to mention he was street-gangster trash and shot a police officer. I wonder if that mixture of chemicals running threw his vains burned? On second thought, who cares. Our state is better off now that Gangster Davis hes 6 feet under.
^This. I also love how only douche bag comments get posted. While this site is funny at times, shit like this post piss me off and give Greeks a bad name.
Our justice system has never failed and will never fail. An innocent person has never been convicted or sentenced in the United States of America for the last 230+ years. Never. Ever.
There is no doubt in my mind that Davis was guilty. I wan’t even born in 1989, but I am totally sure he is guilty.
You sure about that, bud? This is one of thousands of websites that discuss mishaps in the justice system when it comes to wrongfully convicting someone. You might try reading occaisionally.
Well I want to be a Cop after the military, but this guy should not have been killed with little evidence. I do believe that motherfucker was guilty though.
Killing an innocent man is totally a Frat move…

14 years ago at 1:25 pmAgreed. I’m for the death penalty but I don’t agree with it when there’s this much doubt surrounding a case.
14 years ago at 1:25 pmAppellate courts and the Supreme Court didn’t reverse the decision…We have an appeals process for a reason.
