Seventies, you and the wife retire to Fort Lauderdale, you start eating dinner at two, lunch around ten, breakfast the night before. Mitch Robbins, City Slickers
^ I wouldn’t be so quick to judge. My neighborhood growing up was very well off and quite a few of the neighbors (mainly Veterans) took pride in doing the landscaping themselves. It used to be an American tradition to have the family take pride in their lawns.
Fratlas_Shrugged: This country was built on self-determination and doing things yourself when you can. My parents make quite a bit each year, enough we could easily afford a landscaper and people to do our odd jobs around the house. Dad and I do them ourselves though, because grandpa used to build houses and ran quite the successful real estate empire in the area back in the day and he learned the skills from his dad, just as I have now learned from him.
So, don’t be a bitch. Get out there, get dirty and do a hard days work. It helps keep perspective so we don’t forget the things that made this country great.
The best part about your statement, Fratlas_Shrugged, is that the book your user name is a parody of is all about having pride in your own efforts. So either you’ve never read the book or you are not intelligent enough to have understood it.
To save myself from any kitchen comments- I read while I’m waiting for the cupcakes to cool 🙂
I can appreciate this, my nextdoor neighbor is probably 65 and hes FaF, he shows up to the neighborhood parties with a handful of coors rockin the polo and 4 inch inseam and bascially running shit… gotta have respect for the fraternity men that keep the tradition going strong
