I do not have a trust fund, I am not related to W, and I currently drive a Camry as punishment for wrecking the Frathoe. Despite this, I still frat really, really hard. TFM.
You sir may frat all the way to Congress. This post has given life to a stagnate, fictitious world of kids spending “daddy’s” money. You have started a TFM revolution. I will drive my decade old tahoe with pride as I frat balls!
Having strict parents that teach personal responsibility = TFM. Unlike all the whiney TSMs bragging about their “range rovers” (kia spectras) they think they’re entitled to when they do absolutely nothing.
Thank you! My family does not own a company, they do not buy me brand new luxury cars and I don’t have a trust fund. Yes, my family still has enough money to give me the things I want, but at the same time they instilled VALUES in me so that I am not a complete spoiled bitch and I actually understand the value of hard work and the fact that I can’t get absolutely everything I want all the time. Being modest and grateful is a TSM/TFM.
Seriously! It always made me so upset when my friends in high school (and college) would wreck their cars because they were driving drunk/high, and their parents would just get them an even nicer one. My parents could easily afford to get me a new car if I totaled mine, but if I was being irresponsible, they wouldn’t be so understanding. My parents give me a lot and are very generous with their money, but I do my part by doing well in school and being a good daughter, not acting like a ditzy brat.
Agreed, my parents instilled a work ethic in me. Sure, my parents and grandparents could have spoiled me by getting me whatever I wanted, but they told me I had to work for what I wanted. I buy my own Lillys and drive a Toyota Corolla thank you very much.
Starting my own as well. Graddaddy didn’t have enough money to join a fraternity, and Daddy, well he’s just different. Somehow that fratstar mentality got in me. Frat on good sir.
I drive a camry, my dad got hit hard by the recession just like everyone else’s did, I go to law school, have sex with lots of very attractive women, have fratted hard since I was 14, drink natty (I may be 23 but I think I will drink natty forever because I truly love it) all on my own hard work.. Some of the people on here are so full of shit it’s not even funny anymore… people with million dollars in their trust fund talk about it like they can dip into it immediately. Take trusts and estates and you will realize that if your parents are millionaires then they are probably smart enough to hire a good lawyer that will tell them that for tax purposes they should divest their estates to the children of their children to take advantage of the generation-skipping transfer tax.. we attorney’s may need you to make sure our own grandchildren can have a trust fund but stop kidding yourselves.. best damn post in the past two months
I’m in the same boat brother. My parents aren’t increadibly wealthy, I didn’t grow up with “old money” but I’m fortunate enough to have a mother and father who have taught me that nothing will be handed to you.
Being the reason people respect your family’s name. TFM
Aw, delusional poor people. Camry’s aren’t allowed on our Greek Row. But thanks for trying. Now go back to your northern excuse for a fraternity and keep pretending you mean something to the world.
Might I remind you that ALL legacies have an origin. America, as well as every fraternity exists purely because of our founding fathers who, like this gentleman, stood up and made the decision to better themselves. I come from a good family as well, but if you can’t respect someone working hard and choosing to climb the ranks of capitalism and create a better life for themselves, and their predecessors, through their own hard work. Then you, my friend, are the piece of scum who is delusional. You are defying our country and the founding father’s of your own fraternity. This is America, the post clearly defines the American way…and here in the South, we think that’s something to be pretty damn proud of. So keep pretending You mean something to the world; I’m very proud of my father’s accomplishments, as you should be, but you can’t inherit frat. Frat is a lifestyle.
How the hell did you get in a fraternity?
