Being a cheer leading eagle scout and then flying a cargo hauler during Vietnam instead of using his skills to do something bad ass like fly a helicopter gunship. Oh yeaaaah! FaF
A huge patriotic group of men willing to serve the nation at the drop of a hat? Having their own cannon, honoring all fallen people of A&M former and present… sounds like a big TFM. Better than the fraternity system I have heard.
funny thing about corp guys serving our country, only about a quarter of them contract out. the rest are just to geed to make normal friends so they shave their heads and pretend to be in something as great as a fraternity. PRETENDING TO BE IN THE MILITARY. NF.
I checked your claim, the number says for the past 3 years it has been 55%, 51%, and 58% who contracted into the military. Probably would be more if defense spending wouldn’t have been cut. Pretending to be military though? I don’t know about that, wanting to be a part of something bigger than them that has been around since the school opened and serve the state and nation while doing it. TFM. Sounds alot like a solid greek system to me. maybe TAMU greeks should call on these guys for advice. besides, google tamu corps of cadets, and 99% of the articles that pop up are hazing charges. TFM.
smells like a website for greeks is being taken over by gdi’s, and im tftc about your bullshit numbers. so i guess i’m wrong. wearing cargo pants TFM. having a curfew in college TFM. restricted weekends TFM. being socially awkward TFM. roofie-ing girls at our ragers TFM. buzz cuts TFM. i guess now your gonna start saying that pike is FaF….
gary08 I’ll give it to you that the corps probably does have a GDI or two that slip in, but I bet they have top tier units, and lower tier units. I wouldn’t mind them coming down to Baton Rouge though to stir up some stuff. Besides, I youtubed them, found this thing where all the guys are on horses with cannons and shit. and all the “pledges” or whatever they call them have to follow behind and scoop the horse shit. Keeping “pledges” in there place. FaF. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzJevbTbxbY
Im going to be a senior this year at Texas A&M. I am also in the Corps of Cadets and pursuing a degree at Mays Business School. The purpose of the corps is to develop well educated leaders of charcter prepaired to serve both in the private and government sector of the United States. I have a United States Army contract and will be serving at least 4 years as an officer after college. Buffrat is refering to the “Parsons Mounted Calvery” or PMC. Its a unit in the corps that rides horses. There are only sophomores through seniors in it, and the “shit screw” are all hopefull sophomores earning their right to right. Yes I am in the corps but still rock sperrys and polos when not in uniform, i like to look good when not in uniform. I have built a brotherhood with my class, just as you would in a frat. Corps of Cadets and Frats are both great ways of developing leadership, just different styles.
The corps is not a fraternity. They may have some of the same traditions and beliefs as a good amount of fraternity men, but at the end of the day the corps is not a greek organization. No dues, no mixers, no formals, no social life, and pledging lasts for a year.
Just because they can pull rando boot chasers does not make them frat. Adding croakies to your Oakleys and wearing out the one (ADPi) crush shirt you have doesn’t make you frat. I’m sure Chris Angel pulls a lot of tail – is he frat now too?

13 years ago at 8:15 pmRick Perry used to be a democrat
13 years ago at 11:02 pmIn 1988, Rick Perry was Al Gore’s presidential campaign chairman in Texas.
13 years ago at 12:51 amIn 1988 everyone in Texas was a Democrat. 22 years ago….3 years ago Mitt Romney sucked ass
13 years ago at 9:25 amActually no, Democrats dominated Texas until the 1970’s…hence George Bush and John Tower being elected to Congress in the 1960s.
13 years ago at 4:20 amThe Republican nominee won the state’s electoral votes in presidential election in the 1970s except 1976.
13 years ago at 4:22 amRonald Reagan was a New Deal democrat and liberal unionist before he turned conservative…
13 years ago at 10:31 amWhy didnt you post a pic of him in his gay ass milk man costume. The Corps is the most NF organization in TX
13 years ago at 7:01 amgoddamn milkmen
13 years ago at 3:33 pmThe Corps of Cadets is the biggest frat on campus. And the original. Greek Frats have only been at A&M since 1973, where as the corps = 1876.
