No because the ruling was to keep their volleyball team instead of add a “competitive” cheerleading team. So they wont have to get rid of a men’s sport
I love making sexist jokes as much as the next fraternity man, but let’s be real here – because cheerleading isn’t a sport, cheerleading programs aren’t entitled to the same government funding as activities classified as a sport. This has been demonstrably linked to cause preventable cheerleading injuries and to increase the severity of unavoidable injuries. I think I speak for all fraternity men when I say that I want our slams to be able-bodied and happy so that they can provide more sex and sandwiches.
Maybe because the government funds public universities, and therefore funds their athletics, so they have a say in what is and isn’t a sport that they have to give money?
As a result of cheerleading being declared not a sport, it doesnt count towards Title IX. Therefore there will be less real men’s sports, NF.

14 years ago at 10:41 amIf you read the decision, it was based on the fact that it wasn’t organized, not because it lacks merit as a sport.
But it lacks merit as a sport, so I support the ends of the argument, not the means.

14 years ago at 12:07 pmWondering why it’s the government’s job to declare things like this at all?
