University Of Alabama Girl Held On $1.5 MILLION Bail For Pushing Drugs
Ashley Rose Newman, a 21-year-old female theater student at the University of Alabama, is in a world of hurt for pushing drugs on campus.
Homegirl got slapped with all kinds of charges when she was caught with a whole mess of goodies.
From Al.com:
Ashley Rose Newman, 21, is charged with trafficking in Fentanyl, unlawful possession with intent to distribute, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, said Tuscaloosa police Lt. Teena Richardson.
According to Newman’s Facebook page, she is a theater student at UA. She is from Mandeville, Louisiana.
Newman was arrested by agents from the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force after a raid at her home in the 300 block of 27th Street North at 9 a.m. today. Richardson said agents recovered 23.3 grams of Fentanyl, a quantity of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), amphetamine, cocaine HCL, marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Gotta pay that tuition somehow. Theater girls were always on the crazier side. For those of you who don’t know, Fentanyl is an synthetic, opioid-based pain killer.
I gotta say, $1.5 million bail is fucking absurd for the amount of drugs she had. In my opinion, that’s absurd for any nonviolent offense. We got rapists like Brock Turner getting a slap on the wrist but pushing drugs is still the real crime, apparently.
Tuscaloosa has absolutely zero sympathy for drug crimes, though. It’s the kind of place where the general sentiment seems to be, “WELL THEN YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE BROKEN THE LAW IN THE FIRST PLACE ROOOLLL TAAWWWD!” We’re talking about a police force that barged into a student dormitory in full riot gear and arrested dozens of students for weed a couple years ago. Not to advocate pain killer abuse, but Bama is not the place to catch a high. Hope they don’t lock this poor girl up for too long..

She’d be out on $100 bail right now if she was with a member of the football team
9 years ago at 6:00 pmShe’d get a slap of the wrist if she was on the team or crucified if she was a fraternity brother. Which is ridiculous because one contributes far more to society than the other.
9 years ago at 7:52 pmWould, even with her thousand yard stare
9 years ago at 6:40 pmFrom what I know about fentanyl, that shit is 100 or more times potent than morphine. Apparently get pushed as oxy or hydro (vicodin) which will easily kill people. Stuff has no business being sold so glad she got caught before anyone died
9 years ago at 6:58 pmIt’s going in heroin. As an example, if you dump your salt shaker out on the table and pick up one small cube of salt-that’s how much fentanyl it would take to kill a grown man. That’s why that shit is so serious. This heroin epidemic hitting certain states? That’s what’s in it. It’s bad.
9 years ago at 9:41 pmFen is a synthetic opioid that large animal vets use on elephants and the like. This bitch is the type of asshole that sells stuff to an ignorant pledge who then runs out of an Applebee’s and eats the face off of a nice couple standing in their driveway – all just so she can get some money to make the trip to Burning Man. Fuck this hippy gash.
9 years ago at 12:44 amFentanyl is causing a huge problem in Canada and a person can experience withdrawl as fast as 12 hours after ingesting it.
This is the shit that killed Prince.
9 years ago at 5:28 amI made the mistake of eating 10mg of that stuff. I love pks but I was nodding so hard I just felt ashamed of myself and didnt enjoy the high at all. It’s bad news.
9 years ago at 1:36 pmWouldn’t. It’d be too much Drama
9 years ago at 7:49 pmDon’t mention Brock Turner, or you know who will come back.

9 years ago at 1:10 pmBeing a theater student, this was going to be her only source of income or “employment” for her life.
