University Of Colorado Police Take Out Machete Wielding Lunatic In Athletic Facility

colorado-machete

After responding to reports of a man armed with a machete inside the Champions Center of the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field, police cornered and shot the suspect in the lower back inside one of the facility’s stairwells a little after 9:00 this morning. The man has since been pronounced dead.

From Daily Camera:

The county’s Critical Incident Team has been dispatched to investigate the officer-involved shooting.

Ed O’Malley pulled up to the Stadium Drive closure after he received a text from his wife saying she was in the building and had locked herself in a room.

“She said there was someone running around with a machete,” he said. “Then I didn’t hear from her for about 10 minutes. I got pretty nervous.”

O’Malley said his wife, who was there for a physical therapy appointment, thankfully was fine

“Luckily it sounds like she’s safe,” he said.

Currently there’s not much more to go off on how it all went down — as it’s just breaking — but it seems like no one other than the suspect was harmed.

I guess with this recent surge of success and return to former glory for TFM’s Team of the People, there were just bound to be machete wielding haters. Thankfully, tragedy was avoided as cops acted swiftly and in a seemingly textbook manner. Sko Buffs.

Colorado and even Boulder isnt as left as people would have you believe. A lot of salt of the earth people who work hard and respect law enforcement.

We probably don’t have to worry about a race war for this given the fact that Boulder is like 95% white (source: me, a CU alumnus).
