I don’t understand the fascination everyone has with the rebel flag. I mean, I get what it means and everything it stands for–the South and the Confederacy and all. But nowadays it’s like it’s more of a deep south redneck thing. It just seems trashy. But don’t get me wrong, I’m from the South and in no way shape or form do I like those liberal hippie northerners.

I don’t understand why people are enamored with it either.

Saying you’re American by saying you support people who would rather leave the country. Sounds cool.

You got to understand that some of us are rooted in the south for many generations(First Families of Virginia) and were raised to understand it that way. The rebel flag is not a redneck thing.

I do not understand the fascination with it either. The “rebel flag” which is actually the flag of the Army of Northern Virginia is a symbol of hate.

I do not understand how these people are proud of their ancestors. These are the people that raped slaves for the hell of it, and created hundreds of illegitimate mulattoes.

I am personally, much more proud that my family ancestors were simple yeoman farmers, who embody the true spirit of America.

But go back to thinking the Confederacy is awesome and being ignorant of a symbol’s true meanings.

scbro, you’ve been bitching and whining a lot lately. We don’t give a frog’s fat ass about your views on religion and get your shit straight on the history of that flag. It is certainly not a “symbol of hate”. The union attempted to paint it as such but it was used, like a lot of the flags used during the revolutionary war, as a symbol of rebellion and perceived repression you fucking idiot. Slavery was rampant in the union and the confederacy, the north and the south. Whether your family were simple “yeoman farmers’ (are you kidding me with this?) or plantation owners, don’t degrade a symbol you don’t understand.

That would require going to a college with a KA chapter. Not that it matters. It’s just fun to see you idiots get pissed off at a website.

I’m not sure that a plywood tabletop counts as a new table. Pledges did some great work though.
