University of Michigan’s Athletic Department Catfishes Athletes…Um, What?
I’m not pretending I know anything about collegiate-level athletic training (or any athletic training for that matter), but last time I checked, “catfishing” your own athletes wasn’t part of the process. At the KeyBank Global Leaders Forum in Toledo on Friday, University of Michigan’s athletic director, Dave Brandon, shared his little training tactic with the world. He had a random hot girl contact the athletes via several social media websites in order to teach them about the “dangers of social media.” Brandon even had the girl walk in on a meeting he called with the players. That couldn’t have been awkward or anything, considering their responses to her advances were apparently “wholly inappropriate.”
So what exactly was the intended lesson, here? Don’t respond to an attractive female making passes at you via the Internet because she was probably hired by your school’s athletic department to keep you from becoming the next Manti Te’o? I see what you did there, Michigan. Personally, if I were Brandon, I’d be more worried if a bunch of 20-year-old guys brimming with testosterone were leaving her messages unanswered.

12 years ago at 4:10 pm^^Wait I’m sorry, correct me if I’m wrong here, but did you or did you not just go 7-6 this year? And does Michigan or does Michigan not have the #1 recruiting class and the #1 running back recruit in the nation? Just checking.
12 years ago at 4:58 pmU of M is for hipsters, please leave TFM forever
12 years ago at 5:15 pm^^ It was more in reference to ‘ol Golden Arm Robinson losing his QB job.
12 years ago at 6:29 pmDamion Terry. Remember the name.
12 years ago at 6:34 pm^^^^ Michigan has the #6 recruiting class according to rivals (the only source that matters). And after watching them get deepthroated by the TIDE this season, they have a long way to go to get to the top.
12 years ago at 8:26 pmLast time I checked Michigan was getting its assed pummeled by “lower ranked recruiting classes”
