-Derby Days 1982. We were Pi Phi “coaches.
-The Pi Phis gave us the shorts as a gift. Along with bloody Marys in bed at 7:00am each morning of DD week.
-This was in the Sigma Chi front yard (500 College Ave, Columbia, MO). Xi Xi Chapter.
-Pitt wrote the scripts for Greek Week Fling/Sing & Sheryl Crow was our music director/choreographer.
-That group of Sigma Chis (1979-1983) from Mizzou has gone on to own/run multi million dollar businesses, become law firm partners, doctors, code mavens for Google, engineers, farmers, insurance co execs, brokers etal. We “paid our fees & got our C’s” and had the biggest social budget in the Greek System, and the best parties in Columbia. We all made friends & acquaintances that are strong relationships today-30 years later.
-Pitt was a very humble, easy going, friendly guy from Springfield Kickapoo, who IS an initiated member of Sigma Chi, and I believe has recieved an honorary MFA (Masters of Fine Arts for you jayhawkers) from Mizzou.
-Lastly-the shorts were a definite fashion statement-kinda like Elvis with the rubber tubing down his pants at concerts, although we didn’t need no stinkin tubes!
Oh Lord Almighty! I grew up hearing from my mom (a Mizzou Pi Phi) about Brad Pitt coming to the house for dinners and such. She about died when she saw this picture.
