University Of Southern Mississippi Sorority Grants World War II Vet’s Wish “To Dance With Beautiful Women”
World War II veterans are a breed all their own. These courageous people saw shit going down literal continents away and shipped out to put their own lives on the line and defend people they were never going to meet. Those who lived to tell the tale are without a doubt some of the most badass people I’ve ever met. Talk to a World War II vet and you’ll realize why they earned the title “the Greatest Generation.”
Unfortunately for us, as time goes on, the Greatest Generation shrinks. That’s the story of one Mississippi vet and a sorority that wanted to show him a good time.
From Fox News:
A bedridden 92-year-old World War II veteran had a dying wish fulfilled thanks to a Mississippi sorority — to dance with a beautiful woman.
Navy vet Paul Sonnier was the guest of the Phi Mu Sorority at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg at a party in his honor Monday, WDAM-TV reported.
Sonnier met one of the sisters of Phi Mu when she interned at his nursing home.
“He’d always ask me if I wanted to go to Ropers, the local bar,” the sorority’s Jessica Moreau said. “He says ‘I’ll teach you how to jitterbug and the waltz.'”
Moreau met Sonnier through SouthernCare Hospice Services, where she interns. During visits, he told her his final wish was to dance with a beautiful woman.
I’m not crying; you’re crying.
Phi Mu, you really are a class act. As for the rest of us, let’s learn from them to thank and appreciate our veterans. If you run into one, say a simple thanks, or buy them a beer. They deserve it..

The old man clearly asked for a “lap dance from a beautiful woman.” Hopefully those attention whores obliged off camera. He is a war hero after all.
