It’s a little thing called tradition you hypocrite. So I guess every time we celebrate the Fourth of July it’s being stuck in the past as well.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that your making fun of a bunch of KAs “stuck in the past” when your screen name references Gettysburg and a time when people actually dressed like this.

Or maybe he’s from Hattiesburg, MS.
Frattysburg sounds more like Hattiesburg than it does Gettysburg.

I go to Gettysburg College. The only ones who dress like they’re from the Civil War era here–and there are quite a few as you could imagine–are serious GDI’s. Tradition is fantastic, but being hung up on losing a war 150 years ago is pathetic.

Well isn’t everyone who is American technically a Yankee? That was the name the British gave all Americans not just the North.

KA’s, in your constant search for ways to defend this picture, none of you are going to mention the fact that this building is the birthplace of this website? I mean that’s the argument I would utilize.

All over the video they said it was Texas KA and Atomic never refuted any of those comments. Is it not true?

nobody mentioned this but I hope this is the secession speech, the third or fourth best thing bout old south according to the schools personal traditions. A good one should start out we a big f-u to the left-wing gov., the banning of hipsters, and other acts of defiance to be carried out later that night. I know in the fifties MS chps. sent actual letters of secession to the state, stating that prohibition was horse-shit

Born and raised in Southern California. Someone want to stand up and be a gentleman and explain what this Old South is?

KA’s formal that usually lasts the week or at least the weekend. Everything from pig pickins, crawfish bowls, poker nights, and ending with Dixie Ball where the gentlemen dress (until this year) in confederate uniforms and the ladies in antebellum dresses.

So what happened that rendered them unable to wear that stuff? And who mandated that?

The Old South Ball and/or Dixie Ball has evolved since 1920 as a traditional social function of the Active Chapters of the Order with the pur- pose to celebrate and to perpetuate the social attributes of courtesy, graciousness, and open hospitality, which are values of the Old South and were prominent in Virginia when our Order was founded in1865. -KA Laws
