University Of Washington GDIs Are Planning A Occupy Greek Row Event

On Saturday, May 30 at 8:00 PDT, a group of GDIs at the University of Washington are going to “occupy Greek Row” because they believe Greeks are bigots, gay haters, and fat shamers. Seems pretty sketchy to me. The troops are rallying in a Facebook event, and the description made me laugh.

Here is the description:

To the Rebels & Rejects of Society:

Greek Row has been a place where too many of us have been shut out of for too long. We have been told we are too fat, too dark skinned, not able-bodied and don’t fit the model.

The frats have repeatedly attacked us. Both physically and verbally, they have said black lives don’t matter, they have raped us and then called us sluts & liars, they have trashed trans people making fun of them at fashion shows, they have physically attacked black woman. They tell us it is not all- but it is too many. It is time they are held accountable for these actions.

On this night we will take over and claim space on Greek Row, we will give ourselves access to this space. On this night we will center black lives, queer lives and differently abled/ disabled lives, and we will check their privilege.

To make this space accessible as possible we ask that you are scent free

First off, every fraternity has fat dudes. They are often heralded members and the life of the party. We welcome them with really wide open arms, so that argument goes right out the window. That second paragraph seems a little far-fetched to me. I used to be an avid reader of fiction books as a kid, and this looks like one of them.

Read through the comments if you want a good laugh and a glimpse into the batshit crazy mind of UWash students. Here are just a few of the gems you’ll find in the comments:

Big ups to the dude questioning what self-respecting fraternity man would go to a fashion show. My guess is that these people didn’t see the failures that Occupy Wall Street had, but hey let them try their darndest to get under our skin with a little protest. It’s cute. Apparently, IFC and Panhellenic organizations are hosting an event in a response to this event where people can voice their concerns on Greek life.

They hate us ’cause they ain’t us.

While I do agree this is entertainingly stupid, I think laughing at this ignores just how dead serious SJWs are about enacting their utopian visions no matter the cost. So laugh at this of you want, but don’t forget these people are (1) fanatical in their hatred of traditional American institutions, especially Greek life and (2) are only growing in number. tl;dr: a storm is brewing.

If a storm is brewing, we can take comfort in knowing those pussies don’t know how to fight.

Not sure about a storm brewing, it’s already here in Seattle and has been for a long time. They bombed the ROTC building twice in the 60s, the May Day riots are infamous, minimum wage is getting hiked up to $15 and small businesses and family owned franchises are hurting. Seattle has all but driven Boeing out of Washington and it hosts the largest nude parade in the US every summer to protest for gay rights.

Seattle is the counterpart to deep south conservatism.

This is a perfect opportunity to hire midget strippers and show those trannies how much they accept “differently abled” people. The midget stripper party is always one of my favorites.

So when they form a line outside open parties are they also occupying Greek row?

It’s amazing how much time these people have on their hands, pretty sad too

You would think that out of everyone, those who perceive themselves to be racially oppressed would be sympathetic to the argument that the negative actions of the few don’t represent the group as a whole. A little hypocritical, maybe?

Is there a problem with fat shaming, not talking about dad bodies or being a little overweight, but obese people should be shamed its pathetic

It bothers me that you didn’t address the “come scent free” instructions at the end.
