UW-Superior Stands By White Guilt Campaign Where White Students Write “Unfair” On Their Faces

The University of Wisconsin Duluth-Superior is doing its best to take white guilt to an all new level.

In a move that sounds so unbelievable it could be the topic of a chain email my grandmother would send me, UW-Superior has launched a campaign vilifying white students by writing “unfair” on their faces. They’ve done this because they apparently think that this is the way to cure race relations in America. Silly me, I thought treating each other as equals was the way to do that.

Alright, well, a lot of colleges pull stupid shit like this but eventually realize their mistake and act like it never happened. What’s that? The campaign was actually launched last year and UW-Superior is still standing by it and has just reaffirmed their commitment?

The university released a statement last week defending the project and saying that the campaign is prepare to enter its second phase.

Dear God. They actually have a phase two for “Operation White Guilt.”

Does UW-Superior not realize that this is textbook racism?

And I’m not one to throw around the word “racist” lightly. I don’t think that a person is racist just because they tell a joke or happen to believe the song “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist” from Avenue Q is one of the funniest songs ever written. We should be allowed to laugh at stereotypes as long as we don’t take them seriously.

What is racist is saying that whites have it easier than everyone else.

The words written on the faces in the campaign range from the least offensive “Society was set up for us,” to fucking liberal diatribes on how whites don’t have to worry about being judged based on their appearances.

Are you kidding me? I’ve judged people of all races based on their appearances. Guy in a nice suit? He must be successful. Guy wearing cargo shorts? He must be a fucking loser. The difference here is that I’m a rational person and I care more about the image a person consciously projects than I care about their skin color.

If anyone from UW-Superior honestly believes that more people have locked their car doors after seeing a black man in a suit than after seeing a homeless white guy, your school doesn’t deserve to be an accredited university.

Maybe in Wisconsin this is how you react to minorities, but in the rest of the world minorities are a pretty normal thing. In fact, there are some cities and entire NATIONS where “minorities” make up most of the population.

Also, I have a question: What about people who look essentially white but also identify as a minority? Would a half-Hispanic, half-white person be considered a white oppressor just because they could pass for white? What’s the Spanish word for “unfair”?

The good news, however, is that UW-Superior seems to be alone in their “white guilt” crusade. The University of Minnesota backed out last year, calling the campaign “divisive” and “alienating.” Good job, University of Minnesota. Prince would be proud.
