VIDEO: Learn How To Make A Bow Tie Using A Regular Tie

Last minute formal invite, but no bow tie on hand? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered, as long as you have a standard necktie. If not…”PLEDDDGGEE!”

Check it out:

I’m not quite sure who the esteemed gentleman in question here is. The video appeared on my Facebook timeline, compliments of a friend sharing it from a “Gentleman vs Swag” group, and it was originally posted by one Franklin Hampton.

Toward the end of the video, it sounds as if one of the bystanders at the awesome demonstration calls the man Lamar, so we’ll roll with that. Although we never see his face, there’s no doubt in my mind that Lamar is a straight up G. Based on the Super Bowl-sized ring he’s sporting, the pocket square that matches his necktie, and whatever name placard he’s wearing on his suit, there’s likely no argument he’s routinely the most stylish guy in the room.

The tying tactic looks simple enough. Hampton commented on his video, saying, “[Newer ties] tend to have multiple colors. That allows for more versatility as far as pulling different suit/shirt combinations together,” which totally makes sense.

Not that I don’t have a few bow ties at my disposal, but I’m definitely going to give this a try to see how it turns out. The response it has received on Facebook is overwhelmingly positive, so if any of you guys out there attempt it, be sure to let us know how it turns out.
