Video Reveals James Franklin And Vanderbilt Coaching Staff Landing Elite Football Prospect
Jordan Cunningham, a wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, announced his commitment to Vanderbilt live on ESPN today. Back in Tennessee, head coach James Franklin, along with other coaches, cheerleaders, university representatives and media, watched live with anticipation. Cunningham, the nation’s 21st ranked wide receiver according to Rivals.com (#183 overall), is a major coup for the Commodores.
This video shows the unbridled elation behind securing a commitment from a blue chip football player, a payoff usually a couple years in the making.
The greatest part of this video, in my opinion, is the manner in which Cunningham announces his commitment. He states the following: “I’m currently working on a 50-year career plan that begins with me as a Division 1 wide receiver, and will continue as a professional engineer and entrepreneur. With that being said, I will now choose the college that will provide the best of both worlds, academically and athletically, THE Vanderbilt University.”
