Vintage NBA Evaluations Made Accurate
With the 2012 NBA Draft this evening, memories of past stars and busts alike walking across that stage are once again brought to the forefront. We’re all familiar with the infamous #2 pick in the 1984 NBA Draft, where the Portland Trailblazers selected University of Kentucky center Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan because, “Uhhh, he’s really tall.” And there’s a much more recent draft snafu involving those poor Trailblazers again. With the #1 overall pick, they selected another center in Greg “Bones of Glass” Oden in 2007 over Kevin Durant. We all know how their respective careers have gone to this point.
If only NBA general managers were privy to these hilarious pre-draft evaluations made accurate, they could have avoided such disasters.
