Wade Boggs Explains How He Drank 100 Beers In A Day
Wade Boggs is a legend on and off the field. He loves crushing baseballs as much as he loves crushing beer.
TMZ caught up with the Hall of Famer recently and asked him how many beers he’s drank in one day.
That is one nonchalant sonofabitch.
There’s a long-standing legend that Boggs once drank 64 beers on a day trip from New York to L.A. Or maybe 107. Nobody is really sure, but we know Boggs can put the cold ones down like no other. He averaged about 50 per flight.
Earlier this year, FanGraphs caught up with former big-league pitcher Brian Rose, who played with Boggs in Tampa. Here’s how he recalls a flight with Boggs:
“I was sitting next to him on a plane and a flight attendant came by and gave him a case of beer,” said Rose. “He slid it under the seat and I was like, ‘What’s up with that? We only have an hour flight.’ He said, ‘That’s mine.’
Getting a case of beer on a flight and going out the next day to hit some dingers? Power. Fucking. Move.
Check out Charlie Day describing the “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” episode they based off Boggs’ legendary flights..
