It’s earth-shatteringly apparent that this list is chock full of questionable entries, and I’ve further subdivided most of them into my own categories.
Legitimate Contenders
Villanova, UNC Wilmington, Northwestern, Furman, Dartmouth, Tulane, Auburn, SMU, Washington and Lee. I don’t have a problem with any schools in this category making the list, despite Washington and Lee being a highly questionable pick for number one. I’ve personally been to that campus, and it didn’t seem too lively at all.
Head Scratchers
Lafayette, Bucknell, Presbyterian, Bradley, Millsapps, Drake, Gettysburg, Hillsdale, Wofford, Union, Huntingdon, Chapman, Rhodes, Wisc-Whitewater, Lehigh, MIT, Baker, Kettering. I’m sure some of these schools have great Greek life, but you have to wonder why entries like these are appearing instead of more Power Five schools.
Fairy Tales
I’m pretty sure the following schools are made up: High Point, Transylvania, Culver-Stockton, Southwestern, Ripon, William Woods, Florida Southern, Albion, Centre. Transylvania? Ripon? What are these schools? Though it is refreshing to see a list that isn’t dominated by SEC and Big Ten schools, I don’t think anyone in their right mind would think that a William Woods or a Florida Southern could stand up to an Alabama or Michigan State. None of this made any sense to me until I looked at the criteria for these rankings.
-Percentage of students enrolled in Greek life.
-Number of Greek organizations on campus.
-Greek organizations must be chapters of National organizations, such as, but not limited to, the Panhellenic Conference, Interfraternity Council, or Multi-Cultural Greek Council.
-Number of criminal offenses occurring on campus during 2011-2013.
-Average Greek Rank rating.
Well, there you have it. These rankings were brought to you largely by criminal offense statistics from 2011-13, as well as fucking GreekRank. If you aren’t familiar, GreekRank is a joke of a website in which anyone can anonymously give numerical scores to any fraternity or sorority, which makes it about as valid and credible as a YouTube comments section.
With that, I can say with confidence that this list looks like it was put together by a student of one of the many liberal arts colleges featured on it, and is about as useless as a degree from there..

So this is what SFPL has been up to
9 years ago at 5:40 pmThat list looks like Wally compiled it
9 years ago at 5:54 pm“You can do anything with a degree from H-SC” – Hampden-Sydney College
It’s still better than Macon. Fuck them.
9 years ago at 5:57 pm1. Hampden-Sydney is definitely frat, even if the TFM high school tryhard crowd has become way too prevelant there.
9 years ago at 9:13 pm2. It’s not that hard to spell it right
I went there for a while and finished elsewhere. NF I know. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
9 years ago at 9:38 pmshit I go there now and its hard to stay in, a lot of people finish elswhere. I’m always on bullshit conduct probations and all. Its unnecessarily strict.
9 years ago at 10:49 pmSmokes lets go
9 years ago at 2:57 amI was there last in 2011, but you know what they say, “All white lines lead to Hampden-Sydney.”
9 years ago at 5:14 amThey ought to bring back alumni interviews to weed out the losers who are becoming more and more of a problem. Wish I could’ve been there for Gen. Sam.
9 years ago at 11:51 amIFC compiled list*
9 years ago at 6:00 pmKettering University goes by a 11 week school then 11 week internship schedule and vice versa. Which results in you meeting both goobers of Kettering A and Kettering B at your national convention. Both groups of kids are convinced the other group is “the weird ones” but jokes on them because they’re both “the weird ones”
9 years ago at 6:14 pmAnd it’s in fucking Flint, Michigan. The shittiest city in the entire state. I know some greeks from Kettering and they are the weirdest fucking kids I’ve ever met, and they have like 4 fraternities on their “(commuting) campus.”
9 years ago at 8:27 pmCan confirm the uncanny validity of this. Guy from Kettering had a huge tat of our seal on his shoulder and was easily the softest/goobiest mf I’ve ever encountered
9 years ago at 7:04 amYou probably can’t even beat us in a case race. 8:48 is the time.
9 years ago at 2:03 pmfr@ bro
9 years ago at 10:27 amWhat the fuck?
9 years ago at 6:28 pmThere is nothing wrong with including a bunch of Patriot league schools on the list. It’s just filled with rich kids from the Northeast who either couldn’t go Ivy or decided not to. Bucknell is one hell of a time.
9 years ago at 6:37 pmRose-Hulman’s crime rate is only low because the students are basically above the law as far as the police are concerned. Terre haute pd will go out of its way to avoid anything that could make the Hulman family look bad.
9 years ago at 7:01 pmThey’ve been supposedly paying athletes forever too.
9 years ago at 11:06 pmThey don’t necessarily “pay athletes.” Their athletes just happen to get a little more scholarship money if they appeal it
9 years ago at 4:52 pmI would say the police have bigger fish to fry than applied mathematics students in Terre Haute, IN
9 years ago at 7:07 amYou say that like it’s a bad thing
9 years ago at 5:08 pmThe ONLY reason Washington and Jefferson is on that list is due to the alpha chapters of FIJI and Phi Psi. There’s like 1200 kids and 4 frats. 2/10 list not Danny Tanner approved.
9 years ago at 7:11 pmHaven’t heard of most of those schools.
