The Many Faces Of Devastation – Bama Fans React To Iron Bowl Thriller

Was that the most exciting ending to a college football game of all time? It’s tough to top Cal-Stanford’s “The band is out on the field!” game, but I’d say the 2013 Iron Bowl is safely in the top five, likely top three. It contained all the elements of a classic: bitter, in-state rivalry game, one second left with a potential game-winning field upcoming, national title implications, a shocking turn of events, unbridled elation, and of course, devastation.

Take a look at some of the devastation:

^ the hell they do, they could barely beat Michigan and they play shit teams all year. if they played Auburn today they’d get butt fucked

    2. Dillon Cheverere

They’re undefeated. They have earned the right.

      “they could barely beat Michigan”

But they DID beat Michigan. Auburn has a loss. They lost their right to play in the title game when the LOST a game.

^ You realize going into THE BIG HOUSE is not an easy win for anyone. 100k+ people screaming at you is not an easy task to do. That’s why it’s called “The Game” because anything can happen.

No one remembers who deserves shit. In 5 years time people hardly even remember who the National Champs had to beat to win it all. The SEC can bitch and moan all they want but no one will care a year from now and either the ACC or the B10 will have the title. Sucks to Suck.

11 years ago at 2:49 pm
    6. CardinalFrat

Dorn, should NIU be in the nat’l champ game? Should they go to a bowl over Auburn? No. A 1-loss SEC team is equal to an undefeated team from any conference, if not better.

^^^^^^ What a moronic comparison. If you think Auburn or Mizzou deserve a title shot over an undefeated OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, you’re not a smart person.

11 years ago at 2:58 pm
    10. Costa Vision

Wow, I really didn’t expect the big bawling babies that we are seeing from the SEC. I would have had a lot more respect for a “Wait until next year” mentality but instead they are just crying. Strength of schedule means shit in college football when there is an obvious bias. Institute more out of conference play and we can start referring to strength of schedule. Big Ten or ACC champion, deal with it,

11 years ago at 2:59 pm
    11. Tom Landry

But the strength of schedule matters too. Auburn beat No. 9 A&M, No.1 Alabama, Georgia (who was decimated by injuries), Ole Miss, and they will probably beat No. 5 Missouri. That’s pretty damn impressive. If Ohio State played that schedule, I doubt they’d do as well. They haven’t even played a top 15 team IN 2 YEARS.

11 years ago at 3:03 pm
    12. Costa Vision

Your doubt does not equal reality. Until they start playing some SEC teams and until Alabama starts playing some Big Ten teams, you can’t say for sure. Soooooo much conjecture instead of sound arguments.

11 years ago at 3:07 pm
    13. ZETAmerica

With that logic you could say that Auburn doesn’t deserve a championship either since they “barely beat” Alabama and have a loss to LSU, who lost to Ole Miss. What you SEC fuckers don’t get is that even though the SEC is the best conference overall, it doesn’t mean that the best team has to come from it.

And as far as OSU getting their “butt fucked,” even Vegas stated that Ohio State would be favored by 2.5 over Auburn. Fuck that.

11 years ago at 3:10 pm
    14. Bucknuts

And Alabama ahead of Mizzou as well? Why is no one questioning that? Or Clemson and South Carolina in the top 15?? I mean come on, they’re actually awful. The SEC really sucks a bag of dicks this year.

11 years ago at 3:13 pm
    15. StephenGarcia

South Carolina beat Mizzou? And would without a doubt destroy OSU. Yea we played like shit against UGA and UT but awful? Come on now, take a minute and untangle your panties.

“Ohio State barely beat Michigan”. Auburn barely beat Washington State… maybe you SEC bandwagoners forgot about that

    17. Nice Try

People made the same argument for Notre Dame. Notre Dame was undefeated but they played SHIT teams and look what happened. Being undefeated should factor in, but it should be a necessity. Otherwise, we should let NIU and all those undefeated teams in bad conferences from past years in the NCG

11 years ago at 3:29 pm

Not every team has the opportunity to play FAU at the end of October, Chattanooga at the end of November, or play and lose to Georgia Southern at the end of November like the all mighty, strong out of conference scheduling teams from the SEC

11 years ago at 3:54 pm
    21. Nice Try

Not every team has a chance to play Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn and Florida, perennially the best teams in the country with the best recruiting classes, the most money, and the best coaching staffs. Other conferences brag why they beat an SEC team. Teams in the SEC play each other year in and year out. If it weren’t for that fact there were more deserving teams than Ohio State, I would love to see them go to the NCG and get butt fucked by Florida St

11 years ago at 4:32 pm
    22. FratPrinceOfBelAir

Teams brag about beating them..Perennially one of the best teams in the country, most money, best coaching staff, and best recruiting class- you just described Ohio State. Not to mention they play in a stadium of 106, 000 fans.

11 years ago at 5:08 pm
    23. American

How quickly you all forget…We still have a round of Conference Championship Games to play…Not saying that it will happen, but theoretically, Florida State could get upset by Duke, Ohio State could get upset by Michigan State, and Auburn could get upset by Mizzou (although two top five teams going head-to-head really doesn’t constitute an upset, per say). I’d say we’re a long ways off from determining who makes it to the National Championship.

11 years ago at 5:13 pm
    24. Tom Landry

^^^ Yeah, I doubt it. There really isn’t a way to prove if I’m right or wrong without Ohio State playing in the SEC. In my opinion, I think Auburn would be tougher competition for FSU, and based off their strength of schedule, deserve to have the opportunity to play in the NCG. But if OSU beats Michigan State easily, then I have no problem with them playing Florida State.

11 years ago at 5:19 pm
    25. Nice Try

^^^ Describes Ohio State yes, but not the Big 10. And I’m not arguing they aren’t a championship caliber team, they just don’t deserve to be in the game this year

Ohio State is a piece of shit team that has played one top 25 team all year. Auburn will jump Ohio State and play in the National Championship just like LSU jumped USC back in 03 despite USC being undefeated. Have fun watching SEC extend the streak to 8.

OSU won’t play in the Natty because MSU is going to beat them this Saturday. FSUvsAUB is in the future. I’d shit a brick if both 1 and 2 lost and Auburn wins to go to 1 and Bama goes to 2. Iron Bowl 2 for all the marbles. But that is unlikely to happen, just a thought.

11 years ago at 9:55 pm
    33. Fratalini

The truth of the matter is OSU may not have the strongest schedule but for the 2nd year in a row they have beaten every one they were supposed to beat. Neither Auburn nor Bama nor Mizzou can say that.

11 years ago at 10:03 pm
    34. Nice Try

Exactly what logic are you pro-OSU people using? Your only point is that they are undefeated. NIU is undefeated. Boise St went undefeated multiple years and even beat Oklahoma in a BCS bowl. By that logic, they have as much claim as anyone else. How come they don’t get to go to the NCG?

Don’t bother answering, it’s a rhetorical question. They play in weak conferences against shit teams, same as OSU

11 years ago at 10:32 pm
    35. JohnFratYatesSommers

^That’s wonderful champ, but it doesn’t mean shit if you only beat garbage teams. I think years of PAC 12 teams with inflated rankings getting decimated in bowl games has taught us that.

11 years ago at 10:35 pm
    36. SigmaFratty

Why doesn’t the SEC just secede from the NCAA if they are so unequivocally the best conference in college football and the SEC championship game should just be the National Championship, anyway?
Name me one impressive out of conference SEC win? You lost to Western Kentucky. Western. Kentucky. Butthurt sorority girls is all that you are.

“Boise St went undefeated multiple years and even beat Oklahoma in a BCS bowl. By that logic, they have as much claim as anyone else.”

Nice Try, you made your case weaker by saying that.

Because actually Boise did deserve a shot…They won all of their games, and they proved they could beat the big guys. Why couldn’t they get a chance to prove it on the biggest stage? These SEC and (at the time) Big 12 circle jerkers said our conference is the toughest, and then when they get beaten by the little guy…You could do it once, but not week in and week out, and you haven’t won a national championship. I mean we won’t let you, but still. You couldn’t do it.
They said the same thing about TCU, who then went on to do pretty well. And they said Mizzou couldn’t handle the SEC, and after 1 bad year…they seem to be doing okay.

I’m a BigTen fan, given that I’m an Indiana fan should say a bit on my position. But I’m sorry Ohio State isn’t even in the same league as FSU or Auburn. They would get Shalacked if the end up in the BCS. They don’t have the defense to compete with either.

11 years ago at 7:27 am
    39. RichLaxBro

      Ohio State beat Indiana 42 – 14
      Missouri beat Indiana 45 – 28
Florida was competitive against most of the SEC this season losing by an average of 12 points, yet somehow scored 17 against Missouri and 7 against FSU.
      ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Here’s where it gets crazy *Sound Effects*
      ?????????????????????????????????
Florida lost to an FCS team yet managed to score almost as many points against Missouri’s defense as Ga. Southern. Ohio State would beat Missouri in a shootout based on Indiana logic and Missouri’s poor defense (Florida showing). If Missouri beats Auburn, then you will know that The Ohio State University can beat Auburn. So Buckeye fans, root for Mizzou and against MSU, because if OSU doesn’t beat MSU they don’t get to play for the championship.

Anyone trying to downgrade the SEC or say that we are overrated is fucking retarded. And if you believe Ohio St should be playing in the National Championship you are just as fucking stupid as people that say the SEC is overrated.

At the end of the day Ohio St has played one top 25 team all year and all the other teams they have played are complete jokes. Even only playing one top 25 team they still managed to barely pull out 3-4 games this year. Ohio St is a joke of a football team.

Honestly… who the fuck cares. FSU is still gonna win the damn thing. Jameis Winston and that offense is too damn good. And their defense against the run is spectacular. So if OSU or AU make it, they’re not gonna fucking win because all they do is run. But if both lose… well FSU/Bama is gonna be interesting. Yall keep forgetting that IF MSU and Mizzou win, then Bama will jump to 2 and play FSU… so no matter what theres a 50/50 chance that an SEC team will be in the championship. So to all you fucking SEC fans (mind you, for the fucks that are just fans of the SEC) that will have damn hernia because its been 8 years that an SEC team has been in the championship, sit the fuck down and chew on the fact that yall won’t be in the big one this year.

Why are there so many people against Ohio State at #1? Because they’re all a part of the SEC circle jerk. If I were an Alabama fan and wanted to claim that the rivalry with Auburn was real, I wouldn’t be bitching about how they should play for a national title. Fuck Michigan, may they never be ranked in the top 25 ever again.
