Sidewalk Chalk Supporting Trump Sends Emory University Into Hysteria
This week’s newest addition to the list of schools plagued by moronic protesting: Emory University. As the story goes, students at Emory were severely offended by a number of Pro-Trump messages written in sidewalk chalk around the campus. Yes, sidewalk chalk, not spray paint, not permanent marker, but the stuff you can literally spit on and wipe away.
The group of protesters, which were led by a sophomore named Jonathan Peraza, strolled through campus, crying out about how emotionally impacted they were about the situation. Peraza himself is quoted as screaming “You are not listening! Come speak to us. We are in pain!” outside of the University Administration Building for a solid ten minutes.
From the Emory Wheel:
Roughly 40 students gathered shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the outdoors space between the Administration Building and Goodrich C. White Hall; many students carried signs featuring slogans such as “Stop Trump” or “Stop Hate” and an antiphonal chant addressed to University administration, led by College sophomore Jonathan Peraza, resounded “You are not listening! Come speak to us, we are in pain!” throughout the Quad. Peraza opened the door to the Administration Building and students moved forward towards the door, shouting “It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains.”
Well, “Jonathan,” did you ever think that the administrators in charge of running the whole fucking school have better things to do than to listen to a small group of kids whine about how their feelings are hurt? In fact, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this probably didn’t even cause you any pain whatsoever. You just can’t handle someone having different views than you.
After finally getting the attention of University President James Wagner, students berated him with questions about the incident. One of the more unintelligent questions that was asked: “Why did the swastikas on the AEPi house in Fall 2014 receive a quick response while these chalkings did not?”
Well hmm, let’s think about this for a second. On one hand, we have the anti-Semitic logo of the Third Reich, who was responsible for the murder of 6 million innocent Jews, and on the other we have some comical sidewalk chalk drawings supporting a political figure. I figured the stark differences between the two could be understood by a person who goes to a prestigious school like Emory, since, you know, it’s okay to support a political candidate in this country, but I guess I was wrong.
So, Jonathan and friends, congratulations, the internet as a whole listened to you and your pathetic cries for help. As a result, here are some the responses in the comments section of your article to you in your time of need. I hope you find comfort in them.
“Do any of these idiots realize no one without a vested interest gives a damn about their feelings? Probably not. Rational thought isn’t something they have any acquaintance with.”
“They ran out of crayons and glitter in their safe space.”
“These clowns are never going to make it in the real world.”
“Marginalized by chalk. You make a mockery of real pain.”
or my own personal favorite:
“Get on the train PANSIES – We’re making America fu^&ing great again.” .
