Antonio Brown Just Can’t Turn Down Brandon Marshall’s Absurd Bet That Involves His Porsche

Antonio Brown is about to be a very, very rich man. The NFL’s leading receiver from 2015 is up for a contract extension and the Steelers would be smart to do everything to make him a Steeler for life. In the meantime, Brown showed off his new Rolls Royce on Instagram.

That caught the attention of Jets WR Brandon Marshall. Fresh off the news that the Jets have themselves a QB — they signed the fatter version of Ryan Fitzpatrick — Marshall now thinks that he will have more yards than AB this upcoming season. So he threw down a bet offering up his Porsche for Brown’s Rolls.

@ab I've never seen you back down from a challenge. #race4pinks

This bet is so one-sided that Vegas wouldn’t really touch this. On one hand, you have the 32-year-old Marshall playing with Ryan Fitzpatrick. He finished last year with a good 1,502 yards (six shy of his career-high) on 109 catches. While that is impressive for Marshall, let’s look at the other side of the tape.

Antonio Brown has posted 1,499, 1,698, and 1,834 yards in the last three seasons. Not only did he have 136 receptions and 1,834 yards last season, but he did that with Landry Jones and Micahel Vick tossing him the rock for four games. The Steelers return a healthy Maurkice Pouncey to an offensive line that is already good. It also looks like they will be without Le’Veon Bell for a few games. Antonio Brown may hit 2,000 yards receiving this season.

That’s not a knock on Brandon Marshall’s talent. That’s just a testament to how lethal the Roethlisberger/Brown combo is. Looks like AB will be sporting a new Porsche after this season.

From both a football and financial standpoint Brown should take this deal. The Porsche is a 911R and is much more rare, being 1 of 991 made, and has an aftermarket value already over $1M, whereas a wraith starts at $300K. I’ll give him a benefit of the doubt and say $100K in upgrades/a stupid paint job and he still stands to win big by comparison.

The paint job on that Rolls is downright hideous. Maybe the worst I’ve ever seen.

Not to mention destroying any possible resale market when he decides to buy something new.

Some rich Steelers fan would wet himself if he could buy that car. He won’t have an ounce of trouble selling it.

That’s a 911 GT3, the R doesn’t have that rear spoiler (and you can see the GT3 badge in the video), and unless Brandon Marshall is a noted Porsche Collector, he wouldn’t be able to buy the R this soon. But the GT3 is still a lot more fun to drive than a Wraith.
