Arizona FIJI Beaten To Death Over A Selfie While Visiting Greece
Recent University of Arizona graduate, Austin, TX resident, and Phi Gamma Delta alumni, Bakari Henderson, was visiting the Greek Island of Zakynthos over the weekend to work on a few photoshoots to help promote the start of his own business venture where he planned on getting into the clothing line game. Tragically, he will not be coming back home to live out his entrepreneurial dreams.
Henderson was brutally beaten to death Friday night outside of a sports bar after an argument broke out when he took a selfie with a female waitress. Eight different men have been arrested and now face voluntary manslaughter charges.
From CBS News:
Witnesses reportedly told police he and his friends wanted to take a photo with the waitress, which angered one of the bouncers. Police say at least 10 people followed Henderson out of the bar, including the bouncer and another employee. They are accused of beating Henderson and leaving him unconscious in the street.
The nightlife in an area of the island, known as Laganas, attracts a rowdier crowd, according to author and travel writer Eleni Gage.
Just an incredibly heart-wrenching story. Henderson, by all accounts, was an extremely charismatic cat with a good head on his shoulders and a generally friendly demeanor. But none of that matters if you run into the wrong person at the wrong time. It sounds like this bouncer was that wrong person.
And let’s just put it out there: Henderson is a good looking, young, black kid from the States. Is there any doubt his skin color played a major factor in this senseless murder? I know we have our own racial issues that we need to overcome on this side of the Atlantic, but it honestly pales in comparison to the rest of the world. Just something to keep in mind when you’re traveling.
Our thoughts are with the Henderson family and his friends and fraternity brothers at Arizona. Hopefully these scumbags in Greece are brought to justice.

What does this have to do with fraternity life?
7 years ago at 1:27 pmAs someone who has been to a Slavic country before, I know they are SUPER racist against blacks and the men are very “macho” when it comes to defending “their women.” Not saying race was definitely a factor but there is a good chance.
7 years ago at 11:40 amRight or wrong, the globalization ideology has angered many in other countries because they view it as an egotistical attempt by America to force our way of life on them. These people who attacked this guy are proof of an ever-growing undercurrent of hatred of the United States by citizens in other nations. 100% chance that if you get in a squabble in a foreign country, you will not be squabbling mano a mano. So stay woke when traveling abroad fam
On another note… does this mean no new FUBU?
