Arizona State Won't Have Charitable Undie Run Because SGA President Thinks It Ruins Their Image

This Friday was supposed to be a good time to let it all out for Arizona Students. With the stress of finals and excitement of summer right around the corner bearing down on the emotions of students, the girls and guys of Arizona State were going to strip down to their underwear and run through campus. Sounds like an awesome time because, well, Arizona State girls, right?

The annual undie run is not just for fun, though. It’s all about charity. Students bring canned food and clothing to donate to local shelters — including the ASU Student Veterans Association and Central Arizona Shelter Services. The event’s website claims that they even donated over 44,000 pounds to the local shelters. However, the event will no longer happen despite the fact that the run is all for charity.

From State Press:

This year, due in part to a lack of funding by the Tempe Undergraduate Student Government, the celebrated ASU Undie Run, or ASU BB Run, as it had been rebranded, will not be occurring.

During a lengthy Tempe USG meeting, student government leaders decided they would not provide funding to support the event, stating that having a fun run of this nature hosted by student government makes light of the degrees student are earning.

“Having this party paid for by the University and seeing those photos on the Internet cheapens the value of our degrees,” Tempe USG President Cassidy Possehl said at the meeting. “We cannot continue to unethically represent students for community service benefit.”

Yeah, you read that right. The student government just said, “Fuck you guys. The way people perceive us is more important than helping your charity.” Makes sense.

For those who just came for the pictures and video, here ya go:

A simple lack of funding will not stop a tradition such as this. My guess is that there will be a large group of students who strip down, pile up their clothes, and do the run anyways. Then the party will probably get out of hand and someone will set that pile of clothes on fire while instantly starting a riot of half-naked college students.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but liberal pussies like this have completely ruined this country.

Ironically, our asu student government is made up of mostly conservative republicans

How the fuck did I get down voted for this? Both groups are overzealous in their attempts to force other people to conform to their views. This country is not about legislating conformity, be it creating a federal government ponzi scheme, or legislating science out of school textbooks. Fuck anyone who thinks like the crazy Evangelicals or dumbass democrats that worship at the altar of Hillary Clinton. USA is about freedom, which means live and let live. Not live and force people to live like me. Assholes.

I’m sure a good Republican alumni will call out this liberal BS and donate the necessary money to host the event

Our USG president is a joke, she said “this event cheapens the value of our degrees” while she goes out to Mill Ave every weekend and gets plastered beyond belief to the point where she needs to be carried out.

Glad she’s gone after this semester
