Nolan Ryan banning the wave at the Ballpark in Arlington. TFM.

    1. BetterThanYou

You see baseball teams are privately owned so technically if they want to stop poor people from doing the wave they can. Also, by buying a ticket you contractually agree to the rules set forth in the park. So to answer your question yes it is the free country of America.

I know its legal, Im just saying I don’t get why a baseball team taking one step closer to communism with the fans is FaF? I mean do people really hate the wave that much.

If you are bored enough at a baseball game to feel the need obligate everyone to stand up just to see over you to watch the game, then go home.

it’s not communism, it’s fascism. either way ‘the wave’ is about as cool as driving a volvo…

The communism reference may have been a stretch, but still its just stupid to ban fans from doing the wave. Yes the wave is stupid, and overused, but why ban it? You know some kids love doing the wave, and I just dont get why Nolan felt the need to stop it.

Australia also banned the wave at cricket events. Nolan Ryan taking cues from cricket. TFM.

I mean Nolan instilling a dress code of business casual for every game would be FaF, but just because its FaF doesn’t mean its not pointless and a way to put a bitter taste in fans mouths.

Im pretty sure I saw SportsCenter do a thing on the history of it and I think it started at either an Oakland As or San Francisco Giants game.

I remembered watching something on it saying it started in Mexico. I just wikipedia’d it and it said it was also known as the Mexican wave, although it also said it was first observed in the US. Not really clear.
