UPDATE: Dr. Phil Cancelled The Florida Frat Face-Eater’s Interview That Was Scheduled To Air Today

Friday Morning Update

God damn it.

From Tallahassee Democrat:

MARTIN COUNTY — Austin Harrouff won’t be breaking his silence on Friday after all.

The 19-year-old college student accused of killing a local couple in a seemingly random and unprovoked attack was scheduled to be featured in Friday’s episode of the “Dr. Phil” show on CBS, but the TV listing for that show on the CBS website changed as of Thursday to a different episode.

Why? Why must everyone conspire to keep stringing us along here? CBS, Dr. Phil, Harrouff… They’re all in on it together. They’re all equally guilty; there’s no presumed innocence when it comes to making America’s media consumers mad. I’M MAD ONLINE, DAMMIT.

I don’t want to be in the dark any longer. I need the light, like a wilting plant. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT COMPELS A SUPPOSEDLY SOBER HUMAN BEING TO EAT THE FACE OF ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. Is that so much to ask?

Apparently.

We’ll update you if there is a new run date for the interview.

Original Story

In case you’ve already suppressed the Florida Frat Face-Eater story out of your mind, let me bring you crashing back down to earth: Austin Harrouff is a former FSU student and fraternity member who is accused of murdering a Florida couple and viciously biting the male victim’s face during the act. After a prolonged silence (partly due to the fact that Harrouff himself almost died following the ordeal), Harrouff will finally tell his side of the story this Friday on America’s premiere television news program of record: Dr. Phil.

From The Palm Beach Post:

Before Austin Harrouff was arrested and charged with the fatal stabbings and infamous face-biting of a Martin County couple in their home in August, he gave a bedside interview with the “Dr. Phil” TV show, the Palm Beach Post has learned.

The sheriff’s office said there’s no legal way it could have prohibited the interview, but the son of the man killed by Harrouff told The Post in an exclusive interview that the sheriff could have arrested the Jupiter teenager sooner.

In a segment called “The frat boy dubbed ‘cannibal killer’ breaks his silence from his hospital bed,” the show programmers say they have “an exclusive interview, right before his arrest” that is set to air Friday.

Technically Harrouff already told his side of the story, as his phone interview with Phil McGraw, Ph.D. took place in between Harrouff’s alleged murderous rampage and his arrest, but we’re all going to finally hear it this Friday, and I can’t wait. Drug tests haven’t determined yet that Harrouff had any drugs in his system (I believe all tests have come back negative thus far), so what could’ve possibly been going through Austin’s mind when he did what he did? Hopefully this interview sheds some light on the subject, though I have a feeling it will only bring about more questions.

A cursory 2-minute Google search tells me that the synthetic compounds in bath salts don’t register on most drug tests. It’s pretty obvious this was bath salts, but that makes sense why nothing would show up like acid or PCP.

As Frattie Smalls mentioned, currently no government agency or retail store have any sort of reliable drug test that can detect bath salts. However, my grad school professor was enlisted by the DEA to create such a test. This guy is one intelligent son of a bitch, so soon you bath salt enthusiasts that partake in this crazy shit for recreational or haha medicinal purposes will have to resort new methods of ruining your lives. just a heads up

It might be true that no government agency or retail store has a standardized test… but your friendly medical staff at your local hospital is more than capable of testing for bath salts.
