Australian Records Two Holes-In-One In Single Round

My shit list just grew my one member. His name is Andrew Dodt, an Australian golfer that carded two holes-in-one in a single round late last week at the Nordea Masters. I hate this guy with a passion.

Recording a single hole-in-one is a lifelong aspiration for every amateur golfer, and one that more often than not goes unfulfilled when he hangs up the soft spikes for the last time. I’ve witnessed one in my life in person. My buddy’s father hit one at Barton Creek here in Austin. It was slightly anticlimactic because we couldn’t see the hole from the tee box. We saw the ball bounce a couple times then roll over a ridge on the green directly at the pin, and when we arrived at the green and didn’t see the ball, we knew there was a great chance she’d gone in. Sure enough, after the slow, anticipatory creep-walk up to the hole, there she was. Ace.

Pure, unbridled elation followed. He’d done it. A lifelong goal crossed off the sports bucket list. From then on out, he would always carry the story of his hole-in-one in his back pocket, any barroom go-to.

But this asshole here, this Andrew Dodt guy, just showing off and recording two aces in a single round, that’s just uncool of the highest degree. Screw him.

Dodt defied odds of 1 in 67 million with his two aces in the same round. Starting on the back nine, he aced the 11th hole and then the seventh, finishing with a 7-under 65 after shooting 77 in the first round to remain inside the cut line.

According to Golf Channel, the only player to record two aces in a single PGA Tour round is Yusaku Miyazato, who accomplished the feat at the 2006 Reno-Tahoe Open.

One in 67 million, huh? Seriously, Dodt, I hate you.
