Once the general american population accepts gay marriage/adoption as normal there’s no reason for a child of perfectly apt gay parents to have any emotional problems.

Divorce is accepted, but it still doesn’t help children. Allowing gay marriage won’t get rid of homophobia because as long as there is truly Christian religions in this country, gay marriage will never be viewed as normal. Just because something is made legal does not make it accepted or viewed as normal.
