Bees Are Dying Quickly, Let’s Just Kill The Rest

According to a report from Fox 9 Minneapolis, honeybees are continuing to disappear at an alarming rate, a phenomenon that has been going on for years now.

From Fox 9 Minneapolis:

Jeff Danky, beekeeper and owner of Minnesota honey producer Minnetonka Gold, says the amount of bees in our environment is an issue that touches everyone.

“It affects what’s on your plate for dinner,” said Danky.

According to researchers at the University of Minnesota, since 2007 an average of 20 percent of all bee colonies in the U.S. have died. Danky has witnessed the decline first hand.

“Every winter… wintering in Minnesota has been very difficult,” said Danky.

I’m going to need you to cool it, Danky. You know what else has a difficult time in the Minnesota winter? Literally everything. Place is a frozen hellscape. Besides that, I’m not appreciating this narrative of bees being the victim here. When I walk outside today, I know that my chances of getting stung by a bee are far less than they were not even a decade ago. That’s the kind of America I want to live in. Bees fucking suck, and I don’t care if they’re technically responsible for a lot of our food and goods. We’ll get by just fine without them. Do you need bees to make carne asada fries? Ribs? Chicken pot pie? I have no idea, but hopefully not.

Also, we’re not just going to skirt the issue of Africanized honey bees. Those fuckers are known to chase people for miles, and will even wait for you to surface if you jump into a body of water to escape. That scares the shit out of me, and you should be scared and outraged as well. 20% of bees killed is a good start, but we have a lot of work left to do. .
