If Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper isn’t already your favorite baseball player then you need to rethink your life. Baseball’s bad boy isn’t backing down on his stance regarding bat flips and he sure as hell isn’t taking back his comments about baseball being a “tired sport.” On Monday, Harper further cemented himself as baseball’s most fun-to-watch player by sporting a Donald Trump-esque “Make Baseball Fun Again” hat during postgame interviews.

Harper has been so good for so long, we seem to forget he’s only 23 years old. He’s also the reigning NL MVP and wants to usher in a new era of baseball. If this is what the new era of baseball looks like — bat flips, scumbag hair, and Donald Trump inspired hats — then count me in for all 162 regular season games.

To baseball’s traditionalists (and Jonathan Papelbon), Harper comes off as a huge douche. And it’s awesome. I’d be a huge douche too if I was as good at hitting dingers as him.

I, for one, hope Harper makes baseball fun again. College football season is still months away and if I have to spend all summer watching ESPN tug the Golden State Warriors off then I’m going to lose my shit.

    Baseball needs to adopt, the IM style of play: unnecessarily dramatic bat flips, pitcher-batter staredowns/scuffles, and kamikaze-like collisions at the bases. Screw what the old sharts think, baseball lives by these sacred and outdates unwritten rules, which make the game slow and unentertaining.
