Burger King Is Off The Deep End, Introduces The “Whopperito”

whopperito

Burger King is about to drop the Whopperito, which is exactly what it sounds like. The Whopper-inspired burrito will be available nationally on August 15.

From Advertising Age:

Burger King’s latest new item is taking a cue from Chipotle Mexican Grill, which is still reeling from a string of foodborne illness outbreaks.

The Whopperito, which puts Whopper burger ingredients like beef, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles inside a flour tortilla, will be sold nationally beginning Aug. 15. A queso sauce replaces the mayonnaise from the hamburger.

Well, at least they figured out that the foodborne illnesses were a good thing to keep out of the recipe. Burger King has released a string of really outlandish products, from burgers with purple and black buns to the recent Mac N’ Cheetos. I guess they figured that they had to follow those up with another ridiculous idea, and this one does not disappoint.

As much as I’d love to hate on this monstrosity, I know I’ll eventually try one. It makes me shudder to think about it though, because being drunk enough to go to Burger King means that all kinds of terrible things are likely to happen, the least of which involves eating a burrito with fucking pickles in it. As for Burger King, they are clearly a restaurant in transition — as in the transition from creepy uncle to meth’d-out hobo.

I think all the executives have been replaced by Willie Nelson, Doug Benson, Tommy Chong and Seth Rogen. I mean cmon a fucking Cheeto with Mac and cheese in it? No sober person came up with that.
