Clayton Kershaw Gives The L.A. Rams The Welcoming Gift Of The Century

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw just gave the Rams organization a welcoming gift they won’t soon forget.

From Dodgers Nation:

Each player received a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue scotch and we don’t know about you, but we wouldn’t mind if Kershaw gifted us one of these sweet bottles too.

Not only are the bottles in Dodger blue and coincidentally the “Year of the Ram” edition, but the bottles were also inscribed with “Welcome Home! L.A. All Day!” The custom bottle retails at $230, so for 200 bottles, thats just over $40,000 in scotch! Sure, this gift was extremely luxurious but gifts like this are more about the sentimental value rather than the dollar value.

I’m guessing that some of the staff members also received bottles, because there’s no way there are 200 players on the Rams’ roster. For those of you that aren’t up on your scotch knowledge (I wasn’t until a quick Google search), Johnny Walker Blue is some great stuff. This was a very nice gesture, and might also serve the purpose of rooting out any Manziel-level alcoholics on the team. They’d better hope that Jared Goff isn’t seen stumbling around the field after arriving to practice an hour late. Something tells me that the players really could’ve used the scotch when they had to play in St. Louis, but who knows.

As far as welcoming gifts go, you’d be hard-pressed to do any better.

If he really wants to help them, he’ll take over for Jeff “8-8” Fisher.
