Colorado College Student Suspended 2-Years For Yik Yakking That Black Women “Matter, They’re Just Not Hot”

We already know you can get in some deep shit for posting anonymous threats on Yik Yak and saying you plan to shoot people. That makes sense. But was what this kid posted worthy of the two-year suspension he was dealt?

According to The FIRE, Thaddeus Pryor (frat name) is banned from stepping foot on the Colorado College campus or taking classes at other institutions for academic credit because he responded to a Yak that said “#blackwomenmatter” with “They matter, they’re just not hot,” in November.

(Side note: The article wasn’t totally clear, but I think he can get academic credit at another school, it just won’t count towards a degree from Colorado College).

Keep in mind, Colorado College is a tiny-ass liberal arts school with around 2,000 students in the most progressive place in America. If there’s any college that’s going to play the “we’re a private organization and we can kick out who we want” card over an offensive line posted on Yik Yak, it’s this one.

The Yak clearly wasn’t a threat, so Thaddy-boy’s freedom of speech should be preserved. He defended himself by saying it was a joke and is currently seeking an appeal.

I disagree with punishing Thad for the Yak, but I disagree with the Yak, too. There are SO many sexy black women out there.

Speaking for the black community, I just want to say we do not claim or take any responsibility for the atrocity known as Caitlyn Jenner.

The closet this website has ever come to removing the sailboats features a black woman…. if that isn’t affirmative action I don’t know what is.
