As if Square announcing the re-release of Final Fantasy VII for Playstation 4 last year wasn’t cause enough for hype among fans of the original PlayStation games, Sony just revealed it will be remastering Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped for PS4 as well.

From NME:

Sony has revealed that the standalone Crash video games will not be brand new but that they will simply be remastering the older missions that the character faced on the original three games.

This is similar to the way they reissued The Last of Us and Unchartered for a modern audience.

Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Crash Bandicoot: Warped are to receive an update “from the ground up” according to Sony, in order to make them perfect for next-gen consoles.

Most of us grew up with the Crash Series, which also featured titles such as Crash Team Racing, Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, Crash Nitro Cart and party favorite Crash Bash among many others. The latter was the first game I mixed with intoxication. I would break out the multiport extension and overpay the neighborhood 21-year-old for a room temperature twelve pack of Bud Platinum on a Friday night and a couple of us would grind in story mode until we had every trophy, relic, and gem.

I took another stab at the original Crash game last spring, considering I couldn’t beat it when I first got it eighteen years ago. I rolled through the first dozen or so levels, onto the second island with an abundance of extra lives, just to lose every single life in the Lost City level. Neighbors had to think someone was getting it on for over an hour in my apartment for the number of times I screamed “fuck me!” and “why is this thing so goddamn hard?”

Just last fall, I tackled Crash Bandicoot: Warped (3) for the first time in over a decade and had much more success than I had the preceding spring with the series’ eponymous title. Fifty or sixty hours later, I had either a gold or platinum relic (for timed completion) in every level, even the ones in the bonus warp room, and I was content to move on to a third play-through of Final Fantasy IX. Unsurprisingly, an additional decade of wisdom and access to online guides make all of these games dramatically easier.

More remastered Playstation games are welcomed news to all of us who remember how fun, if not seemingly impossible these titles were ten or more years ago.

Please take my money.

This guy has a few diamonds in the rough though, the same can be said for Franzia IMO. Wally, on the other hand, has yet to impress me.

Crash Bash was released in 2000, while bud light platinum was released in 2012. Assuming the average age to start drinking is 13, and it is now 2016, by theory, if you were first drinking bud light platinums, you would be 17.
