Davis Love III Uses One Of His Ryder Cup Captain’s Picks On The Losingest Ryder Cup Golfer Of All Time
If you aren’t familiar with how the United States selects its Ryder Cup team, here’s how it works: 8 U.S. players automatically earn a spot on the team through a points system, and the captain gets to select four additional players of his own accord. Earlier today, Ryder Cup Team USA Captain Davis Love III announced his first three captain’s picks. Two of them aren’t being met with much contention — J.B. Holmes, who is ranked 21 in the world, and Matt Kuchar, who is ranked 17th in the world and won a bronze medal for the U.S. at the Rio Olympics. His third selection, however, is taking the media for a mustache ride — despite the fact that he’s the 9th ranked player in the world.
Rickie Fowler is an awesome dude and a great golfer — nobody denies that. He’s the ultimate locker room guy. Dude won the heart of everyone down in Rio and was some much needed positive PR for the United States at the Olympics ahead of Ryan Lochte wiping his ass with the American flag in a Brazilian gas station bathroom before destroying said bathroom with his motley crew of hairless morons. So why are people mad about Rickie being named to Team USA? For a pretty decent reason: since May, he has more missed cuts than top ten finishes, and his Ryder Cup record of 0-3-5 is bad. How bad?
“Biggest loser of all time” bad. I, however, am not going to jump on the anti-Rickie bandwagon. No, I’m going to agree with the above tweet’s final statement despite the fact that it was said 100% sarcastically — Rickie’s due. He’s got winner’s clothes. He’s got a winner’s ‘stache. All that’s left now is to be a winner, which is what historically follows those two things.
Speaking of history, nobody in history has ever had a worse Ryder Cup record than 0-3-5, so it’s mathematically impossible for Rickie to ever lose or draw any more matches; it’s wins all the way down from here on out.
(Don’t check that math).

Why can’t we comment on the interview with the Total Frat Movie “stars”?
8 years ago at 12:19 pmThey know we’ll tear them to shreds.
8 years ago at 12:22 pmI’ll just comment here then: The first answer the guy gave when asked about his perception of fraternities: “My brother was in a fraternity, and I had a lot of close friends from high school that were involved in Greek life, so I knew a good deal about them.”
It’s always bothered me when people say this, especially those in Hollywood, because it’s what helps create the negative and often untrue stereotypes associated with fraternities. Even though Total Frat Movie looks beyond terrible, if nothing else I hope it stands clear of what you see in Van Wilder, American Pie, Neighbors, etc.

8 years ago at 3:38 pmI want to punch people in the dick when they say “Some of my closest friends were all in XYZ frat. I hung out with those guys a lot I was basically a member.” No. No you were not.
8 years ago at 12:12 amYou’re right, there’s a huge difference between being a brother and being a friend. But there are a lot of GDIs out there who are Frat-Positive, but actually joining wasn’t their thing. We need to recognize and support these guys because you can’t have too many friends these days. Like, I’m a huge supporter of anyone in the military. But I would make a terrible soldier. But, yeah, I would never say “I hung around with a lot of army dudes, so it’s almost like I was really in the Army!”
