Delta Sigma Phi At UW-Eau Claire Lend Helping Hand To Alum After His Barn Burns Down
The bond between men of the same fraternity runs far and wide, reaching even people you don’t know. And when a brother falls on a time of need, he can often rely on this his big, bad extended family to lend a helping hand.
When Luke Henning’s barn burned to the ground, he was left with a massive pile of charred rubble sitting in his yard. But as it turns out, Henning is an alumnus of nearby University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a brother of Delta Sigma Phi. When the current actives heard about Henning’s predicament, they turned out in full force to help clear the debris.
Henning told local news affiliate WEAU that he was surprised to get the level of help he did. He’s been out of college for 10 years, after all, and had minimal communication with the chapter since he graduated.
“It’s great. It’s brotherhood and I love it,” said Luke Henning, a former Eau Claire Delta Sigma Phi fraternity brother.
“I’ve been out for about 10 years now and I really haven’t had a lot of contact with these guys, just here and there. They volunteered to come out here and help us out. It’s awesome,” said Luke Henning.
Congratulations to the men of DSP’s Eta Omicron chapter for exemplifying what it truly means to be a part of a lifelong brotherhood..
