High School Recruit Jumps Out Of Plane To Announce His Decision

I have already briefly touched upon this in my live blog of National Signing Day, but this kid deserves his own feature. The number 1 safety in the land hails from Manvel, TX. For much of his recruitment, he has been deciding between Ole Miss and the University of Texas. Instead of making an announcement on national TV, he decided to turn it up a few notches by skydiving out of a plane.

Who does this? I mean so many things could go wrong. What if he gets seriously hurt? Not only would Hugh Freeze be fuming over this idiotic stunt, but the kid’s future is done. Sure, he’s not jumping out of the plane on his own, he’s strapped to a pro, but there’s still a chance something goes awry.

Recruits are taking these announcements way too seriously these days. Remember that kicker that committed to Penn State via a private plane? He’s a kicker for christ’s sake. His announcement should have no fanfare whatsoever.

Just pick a damn hat and go play some football..
