Did Drake Steal “Hotline Bling” From Another Rapper?

While I am mostly into alternative music — Father John Misty and Lord Huron crushed it at ACL, you guys — I am mildly tuned into the rap game. I did see Drake at ACL too, after all, and he crushed it as well. I happen to know that not too long ago, Drake and Meek Mill faced off over accusations that Drake didn’t write all of his own songs. Drake wound up making quick work of Meek Mill and these accusations by absolutely obliterating him in “Back to Back.” IS THAT A WORLD TOUR OR YOUR GIRL’S TOUR, MEEK? HUH? WHOSE IS IT???

Well, it appears Drake’s in the hot seat again, this time for his current Billboard #2 song “Hotline Bling.” Virginia rapper D.R.A.M. recently called Drake out on Twitter, claiming a similarity between his song “Cha Cha” and “Hotline Bling.”

Did Drake jack D.R.A.M.’s swag? You be the judge.

Either way, both songs are straight (insert fire emoji here).

They’re sampled from two completely different songs. There is no resemblance.

“Cha cha” literally sounds nothing like “hotline bling”. It’s just another rapper who wants to take away credit from a higher up rapper in hopes of feeling relevant.

When are you morons going to finally realize we cover a lot of non-fraternity stuff? Literally about 80% of our content is unrelated to fraternities.

When are you morons going to finally realize we come here for news about the Greek community and funny stories and anecdotes related to Greek life?

Just because you masturbate to your own content doesn’t mean you need to share it with the rest of us

MTV airs reality shows. Barstool Sports covers pop culture. Playboy publishes opinion pieces. TFM still covers A LOT of Greek-related stuff, but we, like every other publication, try to appeal to a broad audience. It’s pretty simple, really.

So you insult my intelligence after needing something explained to you like a 3rd grader? Nice.

My point was these brands have adapted and broadened. If we pigeonholed the site as a Greek-exclusive publication, our traffic and reach would plummet. That’s not good for business.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU ADAPT, YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THE REACH OF THE FROMICRONIAN (frat omicronian) WARSHIP

        YOUR BUSINESS IS DOOMED

Gives speech about appealing to a broader group of readers immediately after referring to the readers as “morons”. TDornM.

I received a rather eloquent email from you once which I feel applies well here. “Blah blah blah, fuck fuck fuck.”

Then change the name of the site to 20% Frat Move so we no longer have to be surprised when this stuff comes up.

Shit didn’t see Fratbono say the exact same thing before commenting. Regardless we’re right.

I was considerably surprised when I saw a Drake article not written by Dorn. Dude has a softcore hip hop fetish.
