Dog Beer Is Now Available, So Grab A Cold One With Your Hound

Teaching the frat hound to play flip cup. TFM.

A U.K. company called Woof and Brew has come out with a beer that is made specifically for dogs. They saw the need to do this because feeding regular beer to your dog can actually be terrible for them. This might be just what you need if you have a dog that likes to knock over beers and drink what spills out.

From The Atlantic:

It has no alcohol, or hops, or carbonation, but it’s otherwise meant to recreate the beer experience as closely as possible in a way that’s safe for the digestive tracts of dogs. The formula contains barley malt, dandelion, flax, and “chicken flavoring”—like so many good beers.

It looks like people won’t be clamoring for a human version of this anytime soon. Based on that description, it probably tastes like O’Doul’s that’s been left open too long, but with more chicken. I’m kind of disappointed that there isn’t any alcohol in this, as it would be a great bonding experience to get drunk with the hound.

If this company has any sense at all, they’ll begin diversifying as soon as possible. They could start off by introducing a light version of the dog beer, and within a few years there would be dog Fireball and dog grain alcohol. Then you’d see dog AA meetings and rehab centers popping up. What a time it would be.

Dog beer that isn’t at all like beer…so basically it’s pointless. But I do love a good marketing gimmick.
