Dogfish Head Brewery To Open Glorious Sounding Beer Themed Hotel
As long as the good people at Dogfish Head don’t mind dealing with excessive property damage or guests frequently pissing in the stairwells, I don’t see this being anything but a success. For those who have never had the pleasure of consuming Dogfish Head beer, a brewery based out of Delaware, it is delicious. Their Pumpkin Ale, which I was lucky enough to consume in mass amounts this weekend while attending a wedding just outside Philadelphia, is one of the best pumpkin beers in the country. The rest of their catalog is excellent as well, specifically their different IPAs, which is good, since the rooms are going to be packed to the gills with booze.
According to an official announcement, Dogfish will team with Brooklyn’s Studio Tack and Delaware’s Lighthouse Construction to design the hotel, which promises a revamp featuring “Dogfish vibes.” Per the New York Times, said “vibes” translate to micro-fridges and beer glasses in every room, as well as “a bottle opener on the wall.” Dogfish Inn’s projected opening: Spring 2014.
This hotel sounds like it’s going to be a fun experiment, but I still can’t help but wonder what the most common complaint from guests and staff will be. Here’s my top 5 guesses:
1) Drunk guest urinating out a window.
2) Drunk guest passed out in wrong room.
3) Drunk guest(s) acting belligerent and/or starting fights.
4) Drunk couple arguing loudly.
5) Drunk couple having even louder make up/hate sex.
-and a bonus guess-
6) Drunk guest’s bodily functions going broken arrow, dropping full payloads simultaneously.
Still, despite all those realistic possibilities, I’d stay there. The Pumpkin Ale is that good.

11 years ago at 5:30 pmTry Olde School by them. It’s a 14-16% barleywine aged in old bourbon barrels. Perfect for a cold fall night. Easily their most underrated beer.

11 years ago at 9:26 pm^^Agreed, but 90 minute is much more accessible to people who aren’t that familiar with craft beer. Yeah, Dogfish Head got me into IPAs too, and now they’re my favorite kind of beer. I recommend it to everyone even though I know there’s just as many people who don’t like IPAs.

11 years ago at 11:32 amShoulda had their punkin last year it was a lot better then. Their IPAs are good but a lot of their stuff drifting into the fruit beer land where I don’t venture.
